I'm Starting To Think This Game is Better - Gears 4

I love the GOW4 content. The maps on 4 really feel like a Gears game. Believe it or not, the scenery matters a lot to me lol Especially when it comes to GOW Glad to hear you had fun during this match.

Idk which one I like more tbh. There are things I prefer in Gears 4 and there are things I prefer in Gears 5. In 4, I prefer escalation 1.0 to any of the Gears 5 variants. I prefer the weapon reticles and the general "feel" (comp tuning, of course). The overall aesthetic has a certain charm that Gears 5 misses. However, in Gears 5 I prefer the smoke/stun split and the no screen shake. It's nice not being in a cloud of smog every time I fight or push a hill. I like the actual gameplay (for the most part) in both games. They're different, but once I get use to whichever one, I think they're both fun in different ways. Every Gears has been like that though. They're all different from each other in certain ways, but they are all still fun and feel like Gears (I know some people will disagree and complain that 4 and 5 didn't feel like Gears, maybe even yourself, and that's fine). They all have good things and bad things about them.

I think what I loved about gears 4 was that it really separated the good from the best with the way it’s movement was so much more difficult to master imo

4 is definitely superior to 5. active reloads on startup weapons, no inverted omen, i used tournament-alt on here, which made it impossible to miss roll out of cover, but they took that scheme away in gears 5, forcing me to map my buttons and making it possible to roll out of cover. the only real problem with gears 4 is the shaky cam on smokes

Yeah. I like that the meta isn’t walking, roadie running, & holding shots too. I think you’d like 4 more as the game appears to be more so for veteran players. You’re kicking ass for not playing though. GG

Icy it’s cuz it is better. None of the hold your shot garbage at all. Your gun actually works so it’s possible to do 1vXs. Of course you gotta earn it since their guns also hit. The movement is harder to do, so it’s not something you can pick up and spam. It’s also a lot faster too so you can actually juke. I started 5 in Dec 2021, then tried 4 out this past June and uninstalled 5. Never going back.

Same to me. I played a lot gears 5, and when I tried to come back on gears 4 it was a bad experience. Movement was so wird, wasn't able to bounce. It's totally different to gears 5. You nedd to stay more close to cover for a good bounce

Gears 4 requires more work to wall bounce efficiently. I believe that’s why more players appreciate gears 4 more over 5. My cousin who never plays can bounce like crazy on 5. It doesn’t take much effort or skill. Also limited a lot of movement for more experienced players while reducing the ways to counter which made it preferable to beginner or mid tier players.

First off I just want to start this by saying Nick I love your gameplay regardless of the game it is, your sarcasm is on another planet! I would like to say that Change is in evitable and we have to follow through with being able to change. A lot of us don’t like the state that GEARS OF WAR is in right now, but at the end of the day we have to be willing and open to change. Another thing that I want to say is I do remember playing gears of war 1 as a little boy and having such a great time, same goes for the other titles leading up to this point. My opinion is, Don’t let others influence the way that you are, just be who you are and I promise you’ll get regular attraction from people!! 🖤🖤🖤

gow4 is ass, but it has logical way of playin it ranked match wise. Gow3 makes the most sense tho from a realistic gears standpoint, there’s no different tunings and shots and mechanics aren’t noob friendly

I prefer the harbor from g5 tho.. you can play any of the other g4 maps but harbor and forge that are dark maps where you can’t see anything (viewer pov).

I honestly like them both, there are a lot of aspects about gears 4 that i love more than 5,in gears 4 we used to get monthly updates with maps and skins, ranking up and reaching Masters was actually fun and i loved the competituve tuning, escalation was the best on 4,also loved the movement more but overall i may prefer gears 5 just a little bit more

There's a lot of bullshit in 4, just maybe not quite as much as in 5. I've never liked having the separate tunings for core and competitive. I'd prefer there just be one solid tuning that works well for all game modes.

Gears of War 4 is 110% better than Gears 5. I played like 2 seasons of Gears 5. I was a Master rank but I quit and went back to 4 because I just didn't enjoy it. The kills really weren't satisfying. In 4 it seems like the talent gap is much more noticable.

Another thing with Gears 4 that I notice is that you see different styles of play and they all work. Like I'm more of a guy that uses movement sparingly but kind of unorthodox but my main thing is I land shots very well and I am good at positioning myself to lay down a ton of damage for my team and take choke points. Whereas I have other friends that's strength is to use a ton of movement and just act as a buzzsaw through the map and I like playing with those guys because they compliment my play style well. There are others but you get my point.
