I thought the same thing. You know it’s funny. Dad’s become like this because now that they’re “dads” and not the predatory boy most boys grow up as, they become ridiculously protective. Which is good in some respects, but respecting his daughter should come first. She didn’t look too happy with her selection though.

@@JuanitaHarrisMissHarrisinParis Predatory boys who grow up to be Dads know EXACTLY how predatory boys think and act because those Dads did those things. But, occasionally, the sins of the father is visited upon his children.

@@beccalynn917 this was less a rant against your comment and more a letting of steam after watching that father dictate his daughter's choices. Sorry about that. No offense intended. I also think parents often underestimate how much they shape their children's ability to speak up once they have grown up by either giving them room to voice their opinions early on or denying them freedom of choice in certain matters. The way you act around your parents is ingrained in you and not easily shaken off no matter how old you become - in my experience. So, I don't blame her for having no spine. In the late ‘80s, my sister was an awesome competitive swimmer. She wore swimsuits hours a day! She even went on to compete in college. One year in high school, she was going on a band trip to Australia. She had to take a swim suit on the trip. She chose a suit that was a combo full-body/bikini. My dad flipped out! He left the room crying when he saw it. The first family reminded me of that moment. It was because it was the first time my dad saw one of his kids, don’t take this the wrong way please, as “sexual”, even though the rest of us thought it was a modest compromise. Those dress scenes totally reminded me of that moment. Dad could not hack it, even though there was nothing too too revealing.

If a bride is old enough to marry, she's old enough to choose her own clothes, especially her wedding dress. And he has to realize shes getting married!! Most likely the wedding night will be eventful. She’s a smart woman, clearly she’s not dressing for anyone but her hubby! If people are looking it’s a them problem, not hers!

IMO, the fronts weren't that revealing. But the back was see-through almost down to the b*tt, and the dad's sitting there while the bride's looking at herself in the mirror, basically looking at his daughter's bottom. Not awkward for anyone ...

I think he’s being extremely rude it’s her wedding day and he’s acting like if even a lil bit of cleavage shows that she’s gonna throw herself at every man

FRIENDS pilot episode (1994): Rachel abandons her wedding and later cuts up Daddy's credit card. Monica: "Welcome to the real world. It sucks. You're gonna love it." Some people today (2022): OMG, I can't believe these parents put all these conditions on their daughter's designer wedding dress!!! She's an adult and her own woman!!!! She DESERVES whatever dress she wants, THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR BECAUSE SHE'S AN ADULT AND IT'S THE 21ST CENTURY SO SHE GETS TO SPEND TONS OF YOUR MONEY FOR WHATEVER SHE WANTS FOR HER SPECIAL DAY!!!! Honestly, it's totally cool if you have rich parents willing to pay for whatever you want. If not, you can still call the shots for your wedding (and married life!). Any time someone has an opinion you don't want, you can say "Thanks for letting me know! You're important to me, but this is my big day and I'm paying for it, soooooo ...." :)

Poor Alexa didn't pay for her dress. Don't get me wrong, it's lovely someone buys her the dress of her choice. But if they don't, she can choose whether to accept a dress they buy, or pay for her own.

EVERY bride that goes into Kleinfeld NEEDS to say that their budget is 1k less so if they want to spend 2k, they say their budget is 1k, because dammit these people ALWAYS go over budget. Do they even remember that alterations etc cost as well? Bugs me tbh... most times they dont even respect the budget and always go over by some amt, small and large alike.

I don’t know about that store but for my dress I got “free” alterations since my dress was a certain price. It also had to be fixed several times even after I got married since my party was April 2021. (Wedding was August 2020)

@@jazlen20 I have heard them say on the show that the brides dont take into consideration fitting, alterations and extra bling etc... I could be wrong lol since I watch multiple of these. But regardless they always go over budget drives me batty =D

I feel like this should be the case everywhere. I'm getting married in October and when I was dress shopping I gave myself two budgets. One hard budget (the highest I could afford) and a soft budget (where I'd prefer to stick around. For me my hard budget was 2k, soft was 1k. So I'd tell my consultants I wanted to stay closer to the 1k range. I'm so glad I did because the prices they give you do not include tax and shipping. After taxes and all that was added up on my bill my dress was almost hitting my 2k budget. I have just enough left over for alterations. I would have possibly gone over budget if I had given my consultants at the shops I went to the full 2k budget to consider, and the shops I went to were all ones who respected the budget I gave them and didn't pull dresses that were over that budget.

Oh maybe they have I haven’t seen all of them and would miss that haha I guess some places are different. Mine was just a small one store (well it was a decent size just not a big chain) mine was covered in the price which was great.

That’s a smart move. Good luck with your wedding! Definitely give them the lower budget first best idea. I don’t understand why people say I want 10k dress like why it’s worn once maybe 2x cause of Covid and if you renew vows if it still fits then.

Bride #1: She was so sweet and a bit naive. She just seemed to go along with what her Dad wanted. I am a Daddy's girl, but if I have an opinion, I would kindly and lovingly voice it. Bride #2: I fell in love with dress #2. I really haven't seen anything like it. However, dress #3 was really lovely on her and combined the two aesthetics that she wanted perfectly. Another note, you also have to look at the body shape, she is a rectangle and dress #1 did nothing for her figure, the other two dresses had silhouettes that gave her more curves.
