Had a great time making this short documentary. It was a pleasure to work with both James and Alicia, I hope I was able to capture their story it needed to be told.

Sad to say but from what I've seen the indigenous homeless are still left at the bottom of the pile whilst others seem to be being rewarded for no other reason than turning up .... desperately sad when your own write you off

I saw this chap on the documentary "The joy" as well, he seemed like a nice ol skin. Very sad to hear of his passing, RIP James. Disheartening to see folk like this through no fault of their own and with so much potential to fall through the cracks. That wonderful lady Alicia is very caring, fair dues.

The wealthiest..... not sure about that , you've got the biggest debt per capita in Europe ( 280 billion I think ) perhaps even worse. Makes me wonder how all this debt countries accrue is sustainable.... surely theres going to be a " correction " worse than 2008 someday ?

I know how this man feels I was homeless on the streets of Dublin for over 9 months and I was sleeping rough for nearly 8 months and it nearly killed me but thankfully I am off the streets now

I remember him when i lived in dublin 10 plus years ago. Was back there a few years ago and its heart breaking to see all the destitute people on the streets. Was like the night of the living dead. People complain about london but you dont see anything like this. A national disgrace

I've seen several of these videos of the homeless in Dublin. I'm an American of Irish, English and Scottish descent,I visited Dublin in 2019 and met some of the homeless there. I'm American but a big piece of my heart is in Ireland and I'm trying to find some way to help.

Join the soup run you see them walking around in yellow jackets, or do it with a friend, I met a bloke who used to make sandwiches and buy bars , crisps, socks etc, and went out on his own with a large flask , he walked around on his own, he was a nice man , but I don't recommend you go it alone, take a friend with you for support, because it's dangerous out there for anyone! Bless you r heart , and good luck with that !👌 🙏

He was literally homeless because he took drug's and was a robber. Locked up for 3 year's. He may be dead now but he had loads of opportunities. God bless mate i knew him from around but he chose death.

I know this video is 5 years old and i,m sure there,s "still" homeless people there etc........i,ve been to Dublin more than once and "seen" people begging on the streets etc......and "are" put-off giving s donation to some people because..........i,m NOT sure who IS genuinely homeless or just doing it to earn money etc................when/if people need some money i don,t have a problem dipping my hand in my pocket etc.......but maybe in some cases its the "minority" of people who are not genuine etc......."puts u off giving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Its disgusting how people could treat homeless. How the fu$& could you kick a sleeping homeless person, what does that say of you and your upbringing. I don't blame Mcdonalds for not catering in their restaurants for homeless people, but couldn't they feed the homeless with their wasted food at the end of a shift??? I'm sure it's possible, I know they have the food. Why not have a mcdonalds food place in every town for homeless rather than waste the food.
