Very confrontational with the man and the horses outside the storehouse. The "why would you do it for free" (twice) or the "I'm just down the road". The chap was being nice, good to see you change your tune so quickly. I'm from Dublin 7 myself & sometimes the most confrontational or "dodgy" people in Dublin are the locals, as I'm sure you know yourself. Great content, you've a new subscriber here.

Dublin born and bred, out of it for 14yrs now, only returned once in that time. Years before I left it was a dangerous kip, going into town at night, the atmosphere was violent. Living in an Eastern European country now. Have seen women walk through badly lit parks on their own late at night, after midnight at times. They were in no danger of being approached or assaulted. The only real danger here is from driving. I've driven all over Europe and I've never seen worse drivers than here. Road rage can be a problem.

Dublin has gone down hill in the last couple of years in particular...In my opinion it's mainly due to the massive amount of new arrivals...100s of thousands of them ...A huge amount are not even vetted 🤷‍♂️
@bogtrotterErin
@bogtrotterErin 10 ай бұрын
Very true. The vetting processes have greatly let this country down. Also this situation where “refugees” were destroying their passports on the plane so we just had to believe where they were from. Only one case of someone doing this and going to trial. Also, people arriving from war torn countries who are living thousands of miles from the danger zones knowing that our customs guys can’t tell that as their passports have a country but not a region on them. We’ve been very lax and I hope it’s not too late to wean out the fake ‘economic’ migrants and those who just transferred from other European countries as Ireland had more to offer in terms of housing and benefits. Those benefits how and ever have been greatly reduced so we are not the glowing offer we have been previously.

@@bogtrotterErin it interesting that people look to illegal immigration as the issue. Dublin is safer now than it was in the 80’s, the violent, poor and depraved areas are still concentrated it predominantly Irish neighbourhoods. I left the UK 20 years ago to live in Germany, and my brother left in the 90s to join the Army. He now lives in Spain. Neither of us can believe the rancid state of the town of our birth. Awash with vice and idleness. The streets stink of urine and fetal matter. People who barely speak English just milling about. It’s no place for children anymore. De centralise drug treatment/ Injection clinics/ Methadone treatment more out of the city centre. The likes of Pearse St, Merchants Quay etc. attract addicts and dealers. every town has a drug problem, so treat the addicts locally whenever possible. Look at Coolmine, it's successful because it takes people out of that environment. What chance has anyone getting clean in a hostel or tent in the city.

As the people in my videos say friend, there’s no point going to rehab and returning to hostels or the streets. I don’t think the SIF’s will be moved as the city is where people score. I worked as a counsellor and in a needle exchange for MQI. SIF’s will save lives here. Deaths from overdose are almost equal to deaths on the roads here. SIF’s will also help clean needles and other drug taking paraphernalia off the streets and parks. Drug dealing in the area will not change as a result of SIF’s. It’s already here.

I've lived in the city centre for ten years, like any major city it has its problems but overall Dublin is a very safe city. People would do well to try and remember back to how Dublin was long before the Celtic tiger during the heroin epidemic in the 90s. And I'd love someone to point me to the point in history where there was no crime in the Hibernian metropolis. Dodgy characters are part and parcel of living in a city, and most times they’re not dodgy at all, just your fears and imaginations playing tricks on you. Don’t give into fear, enjoy the world and enjoy Dublin, we’ll be all dead in the ground soon enough!

100% agree, I was born and raised in that area and still visit family there at least twice a week so I know that "dodgy" lane very very well ........ and I can honestly say there's nothing dodgy at all about that lane ....... unnecessary, and completely untrue, scare mongering.

im not from Dublin but lived in Dublin for 12 yrs, i stupidly got addicted to methadone then when that scare i had to use Heroin, during times of scarcity what us addict would call a drought, id travel to every so called bad area and nothing ever happened unless your acting all hard or asking for trouble, never travel alone, I've seen guys been left in their jocks and Tshirt runner's nice Jeans goose lined jacket all removed with chains and wallet, what the fuck did he think going into an area like a Christmas tree with presents for all.😢

Strangely enough i took my first chase when i was a teen for graffiti down that lane off a undercover coming out of the shop. Then years later i was trying to buy some naughty things from some local junkies who bumrushed me and ironically enough the whole thing was stopped by a dude smoking dope off foil (also a junkie, and i was on my way to being one and ge gave me a chat about it being no life and then in the end sorted me out as i persisted...ahahah) so yknow duality, principles and human nature is kinda crazy. yknow best not to get bitter and disgruntled, but i will give it to you, definitely the fairest channel on the subject of immigration, most of the other channels are clear extensions of the American/uk alt right and far right mindset, and alot of the leaders and figure heads and especially the online pundits are essentially fear mongering for their own financial gain, y'know i wish people had listened 6-8 years ago literally the same people rallying against it now would of called me a racist and ignorant, im sorry but the whole internet aspect attached to it and other social/ geo political issues often enough does more danage then good at times.

@@bogtrotterErin yeah but the angle there is that tourists.. u.s. german ect.. wander around there.. ive seen a bunch get chatted up to bits by addicts.. after my passive agressive talking too just up on a corner by some phycos.. i was walking out with me hair standing with my hands saying no.. and my feet saying gooo.. and i saw a bunch of lost? Tourist bunching up to the charms of a couple addicts.. id normally stick around to help user them to somewhere more lively.. coz that block surrounding those high walls is like a giant square long alleyway.. with not much watching going on there.. a bike and they gone.. a wrong turn for tourist imo.. im used of rough.. but got overwelmed in there.. looked trough a gap.. saw a yard of containers stacked.. a dude had a house made out the top one. Dog. Booze ect. Balcony.. sunbathing.. seen me.. wasnt impressed.. blowing his cover in... Freedom.. but looked like a addict.. so i can imagine what goes on.. i worked on the wiskey vaults at sheriff street.. fekin nuts cleaning that place out.. freerange desperate subculture.. mad max meets escape from new york.. layers upon layers.. like arcioligy.. of crime evidence.. a million handbags ect. Never heard or anything so rough.. was terrified up on room incase it caved in and i fell into all that madness.. if i did probably just say well thats me snookered .. leave me here . Ive documented addicts lives and its shocking the stuff they were doing daily.. heart breaking in many ways.. and alot are cluster b types and dangerous.. daily.. to pthers.. and very grooming in different criminal and manipulating ways to runaways ect ! Ive seen themself flourish but the used ' buddy' crash and burn.. from young pissed off kid to old bold and unfortunately cold in the end.. all in my head like yesterday... Tried warn but sometimes be out talked by a covert narrsisist ect.. ends in tears.. for family. Could have being me.. If i had a little money for habits.. less may be more in this situation...

Thanks for your comment Dora. I think a lot of people would agree with you. I’m Southside town centre and to be honest I feel pretty safe. I’m always around town. In terms of leaving our homeless guys in the street while seemingly housing anyone who arrives here without properly vetting them, I think it’s shameful. You would wonder what there agenda is. Although I have every empathy for the Ukrainian refugees and anyone who genuinely needs our help, the fact is this. We have taken in ten times the number of refugees that other European countries have. What’s that about? My next video is addressing that. We give all these tax breaks to multinational companies and become a wealthy country yet still can’t house our guys living in tents on Henry st etc. Makes no sense to me.
@doragibbons2977
@doragibbons2977 10 ай бұрын
Government is responsible for this our own people on the streets and their only concern if you can call it that is refugees coming in to our country constantly and wondering were the can house them in the meantime no accommodation for our people with nowhere to sleep but it will continue until people come together and stand up for our rights to a better future for them

I have been living in Dublin since 2014, and the change for really bad was after the COVID and by that time wasn’t any refugee crisis. I respect your opinion but I think your portraying of the city js Bias and not accurate, there’s a lot of issues from neighbourhood that are not many foreigns livings there. Being self-critical about real local problems is not easy, but drawing a city ruined by illegal immigration in Dublin is at the very least biased and poor. That’s my humble opinion.
