@@warhammer5690 : I've said it elsewhere: If Floor is the Voice and Tuomas is the Brain, Jukka is the Heart. Especially here, in Ever Dream, his drumming has an almost frantic quality to it -- and it gives Ever Dream, coupled with Floor, the almost chaotic feeling one has when one is in love. THAT is the emotion I was talking about when Mr. Rock N Roll showed my comment at the beginning of this reaction. And Nightwish is the only band to ever capture, fully, the emotion from the human experience. If I had one wish, it would be to protect Jukka from insomnia so he could perform -- to give him the strength of spirit, body, and mind that he would need to get back on the kit. It saddens me he decided to step down as drummer permanently (15 July 2019)...even harder was that decision because it was what he loved to do. It was his life -- and now, in spite of still being with the band on the business side, I've always wondered how much he really misses being on his kit, playing for the Legions of Nightwish.

If someone listens to this song, and they don't feel anything, they aren't human. Every time, Floor hits me in the one place I've thought I've locked away -- because she's that emotional, that good. And the drums? By God, the drums...Jukka's stick work and footwork accentuates and compliments Floor in a way that can't be explained. And it is so...good. Enough, I dare say, to be legendary.

What I think makes this concert so great, besides the talent, is that it's essentially a mass reaction. Floor was still a "fill in". The whole crowd is hearing her for the first time. The energy must have been amazing.

She is amazing. Isn't she? That's why this concert is legendary now. She just went full power all the way from the start of the show, to the finish. She and the whole band really gave their all and the whole concert is just one epic blast. Only Iron Maiden's Rock in Rio 2001 concert and a very select few, that I can't quite remember from the top of my head compare to this performance. I've been to a Maiden concert and it will stay with me to the rest of my life. My next target is a Nightwish concert on their next tour. No matter where I can catch them, I'll go there, for sure.

i see ten maiden concerts in my life the first was the powerslave tour and the one thing i can say to you is :go to an nightwish concert . i was in this one in wacken and in lisbon 2016 and both of them are amazing . im still a maiden fan but if they play at the same time in a festival i will choose nightwish without blink .

Ever Dream is a prelude to Ghost Love Score. The styles are similar, though Ever Dream is truncated or shortened. But still...the talent Floor shows from the first notes of Dark Chest of Wonders is... The only thing I can compare is Floor is to symphonic metal what Nikola Tesla is to inventing things. Simply a god-like pure genius, coupled with a talent that comes once in a generation.

The "train rumble" with the double bass pedals. Gives me shivers and goosebumps...but the total length of the show? Approximately 90 minutes -- and to think that Ghost Love Score was 70 minutes into the show.

I don't thing most people realized till this song that the thing that makes Floor more special than most is not her 4 octave vocal range but rather her 110Db Belted voice that just dominates over even the loudest instruments. Remember that she had 48 hours to learn this set and most of the audience had no idea who Floor Jansen was or what to expect when she walked out on stage.

ConfessorEpicness Floor had to learn the set list in 48 hours for the show in Seattle, Washington USA. This performance at Wacken 2013 was 9-10 months later. Still it was a big surprise for all the people that hadn’t ever heard Floor before!

ConfessorEpicness I would definitely watch the documentary. It’s a lot of reading if you don’t know Dutch. Totally worth it though! I don’t remember exactly who called Floor but they hired her temporarily to finish out their tour. Floor took an 18 hour flight and starting studying the set list songs. She got to rehearse with the band one time before their Seattle, Washington show. They officially hired Floor as their permanent singer in October 2013. The Wacken 2013 was August 3, 2013... Although when watching the full Wacken 2013 concert I love seeing all of the guys reactions to Floor. It becomes obvious Floor completes Nightwish. They were a bit worried as Floor had been going through a rough time, and was burned out (revamp), but Nightwish definitely restored Floor’s confidence! Revamp disbanded in 2016 so that Floor could give Nightwish a 100% I’m so ready for their new album coming out next year!!

She must be among the 20 best female singers in the whole of Europe, all categories. I started listening to NW while Tarja was the lead...this was one of my favorites as I thought it was an amazing song, especially at the 3/4 mark when the drummer doubled the beats without missing one. I was floored. When Tarja left and Anette joined, it just wasn't the same and I quit listening due to time constraints. Coming to this channel and listening to Floor, pretty extensively, I can honestly say I'm back to full fandom. Tarja is great, but I think Floor has her beat in her range of pitches, styles and presence. I'd love to know how Floor does with "Over the Hills and Far Away" (Gary Moore cover) and "Wish I Had an Angel". Both are great with Tarja but reference my previous statement. If you haven't heard either, enjoy. The screams of pure pleasure and the facial expressions are a pleasure to watch since they are pretty much the same ones I have too.

Well, her pipes don’t just explode because that’s what sets her apart. She possesses all the necessary qualities: technical prowess, drive, passion, endless practise, physical robustness, stamina, knowledge of her limits, discipline. That stuff is what makes Floor a force of nature on stage. Because she has the whole package, she can headbang and move around without straining. you gotta experience "She is my sin" Floor is just perfect, yes there are a couple of singers who can reach high notes, Tarja actually does, and she is great at that, but nobody gives you such a complete performance as Floor does, when she comes out she becomes a commander on the stage, she gets on your mind just like a siren, whatever she want you to feel, hear, of experience you do, couple that with Marko's voice, and the rest of the band members, you get nothing less the perfection.

This may be an unpopular opinion amongst old school nightwish fans but this song proves that Floors vocal skill is way superior to Tarja´s. She sings this unbelivably high song using her middle range, and she change registers and colours from rock, middle to head (classical) and even growls... it makes Nightwish music much more interesting.

It wasn't overkill -- with the frantic nature of the song, Jukka's drumming is needed. Seriously. Ever Dream is one of those songs where I can see it being played when a boy is about to walk away from a girl -- and she is head over heels in love with him, but hasn't told him. As he walks away, she gets faced with a "now or never" moment -- and Ever Dream is the song for that moment.

In this case, I could notice the lightnings that were on the screen and how perfect they match while Jukka was hitting the cymbals and doing the double pedal. That surprised me huge time. Perfect.
