Made the switch this year. Bought a Tc250 as a second bike/gimmick with 9 hours on it…. Threw a lectron on it and went out for the first ride… and 60 hours of motocross later sold my 19’ KX450 and will never go back! The best bikes on the market are the Austrian pingers and it blows my mind local tracks aren’t full of them! My opinion, the platform is a more fun and better bike in every way than any 4 stroke on the market! Lighter, more usable power in the mid (signs off up high though), and the chassis just feels so easy to throw around! Best of luck!
@LectronFS3 жыл бұрын
Adjust the power jet to get some more peak HP. If you are a little rich, it will sign off early. If you're not sure, try richer first and see if it makes it better or worse.
@dirtbikejohnny3 жыл бұрын
@@LectronFS for my personally it feels pretty good I think it’s the nature of the bike. I short shift it before wringing it out. I meant this in no way negatively it’s just the only real thing these bikes lack compared to the modern fast revving 450s is that crazy endless topend. The lectron is by far the best product on the market and will be on every bike I won moving forward!

Sweet bike, if your going to be racing that thing. You absolutely HAVE to put the Two Stroke Performance high comp head and their Keihin carb. You won’t believe the difference in power and how smooth it is. It will feel like a 300 down low and still rev out like a 250.

I've got a 2018 TC250, run the red power valve spring, PC exhaust, throw the Mikuni in the trash and have JD send you a 38mm PWK AG. It broadens the power band up a bunch. Flip the bar clamps around to get the bars further forward, and flip the axle blocks around to make the chain as short as possible and it will turn better. Ditch the mid-valve check plate in the forks and get a proper shim setup with some float in there and the front wheel will track much better. If you want insane power, get the STIC for your PWK. Seriously, you need to put a smaller sprocket on the back to keep the front wheel down with the STIC and the over-rev is phenomenal. I tried 2018 Husky stock, Reed bend, and 2019 Husky stock Pro Taper bars and ended up liking the 2018 bend the best, they were the straightest and helped in keeping elbows up. Most importantly, try not to let your face freeze like the Jokers with the grin you'll have every time you crack the throttle.

You are gonna fall in love. Some suggestions from a 33yr old lifetime 2 stroke racer. Currently i race a ktm 250sx and can give you the scoop on set up. *JD jet kit *shorty race silencer *play with gearing-i ended up going 13-52 and seems to be the sweet spot for top end pull and low rpm pull happy medium. Also the powervalve adjuster and springs make a difference! Down the road go with a high compression head like one from Vhm or similar and the bike will rippppp. With mine i pull 2nd and 3rd gear starts and get top 3 holeshots almost every race. Best of luck and hope this helps and enjoy that sweet two stroke on the track more flickable then a 250f and much more power.

Same but 90hrs. I just never feel comfortable on it but then again I don’t ride much anymore so that doesn’t help.
@JosephPilsner3 жыл бұрын
@@franzv3172 I just feel at a disatvantage due to my riding style, I've gotten used to no engine braking and keeping the front wheel down out of corners cause it has so much torque but even after 3 years of riding it I just feel more comfortable on a 4 stroke. In Canada you're allowed to race a 250 2 stroke in the 250 class so I have a power advantage on certain sections of tracks against the 250f's but I'd rather lose that advantage to be faster on the tighter sections. If you can ride a 250 2 stroke properly it's definitely better than a 250f.

I can't brag about KTM enough and I'm not even sponsored by them or get paid to talk there bikes😂 but if you put the same gearing on a CR 250 as a 250 SX there is literally a 10 mile per hour difference exact with CR topping out at 73 and the SX topping out at a whopping 83 miles per hour you might say top speed does not matter on tracks but it is in the DIRECT correlation with the power of a motor no matter if you're hitting top speed on that track or not it Definitely matters!, topspeed predicts accelleration and acceleration matters most when talking performance PERIOD and performance is everything 👍

One please use Maxima 927 for your Premix! Secondly, I honestly don’t understand why the guys that are consistently out of the Top 20 but still haul ass don’t ride a 2 Stroke at all of the Nationals! If you had the 20-40th guys all running two strokes, you guys would be the show at any National Period! No one wants to hear the Fart Machines running around the race track! Your sponsors and your channel would get 10 times the exposure if you were racing the whole series on a smoker! Third, your racing expenses would be cut by at least a third! You could send your cylinder and head to Pro Circuit or Twisted Development and have a killer race engine and Vortex Ignition for probably under $3,000. Throw a Wossner piston kit every other race or 4 and you’re Golden. Will your race results suffer in the 450 Class, maybe but the benefits far outweigh the negatives in your situation I believe!
