The "habitual be" is used to describe extended actions rather than singular actions. It tells us that event in question happened more than once. It's funny that AAVE is often viewed as "less correct," in some way. As any linguist will tell you, AAVE contains grammatical aspects that don't exist in standard English, meaning that AAVE actually communicates information _more_ efficiently than other dialects. And communicating information is kind of the whole point of language. So the thing that language exists to do, AAVE does _better_ than standard English.

Funny & gorgeous. She reminds me of my wife. The first time me & my wife kissed, she stopped me & said "Do you wanna f#ck? Cuz if you aren't any good in bed I see no reason for us to get to know each other." That was in 2003. We got married 4 years later in 2007. In 2011 she was diagnosed terminal & passed away Christmas Eve of 2015. She died of COPD. Her mother & my mother died of COPD too. Since I lost her I haven't met anyone else that I want to be with. Its weird too cuz when you're married all kinds of women try to flirt with you & stuff. But my wife, Kim, she looked so good I never cheated on her. She looked so good in a bikini that she caused a traffic accident walking home from the swimming pool. But now she's dead & it really sucks.
