I'm guessing the reason why they had to tape at Video-Pac Systems in L.A. was because NBC had too much going on at their Burbank facilities (Concentration, Scrabble, Sale of the Century, Super Password, Days of Our Lives, The Tonight Show, Punky Brewster, Wheel of Fortune).
