Saying "I can't lose this job" is vague, because it can be interpreted as a selfish motive while being "threatened to lose their job" is very direct on why she did it. Also MJ didn't need to say "I did" in response to Peter saying that "Your job is write the truth" meaning that everything that she wrote about Spiderman in that article IS the truth. She had the chance to explain the situation, but no, let's make the miscommunication even worse.

​​@@hideofreakingkojima5457 Except for the fact that we already know the context that MJ is on the verge of losing her job and that she wants to make a difference there prior to this moment, so her saying "I can't lose this job" isn't as vague as you're making it out to be, so again, still the same thing. Also the miscommunication between MJ and Peter is supposed to be a conflict in their relationship. This is what also culminates into the Scream boss fight. Also, it's not like writing the article was her first thought process. Literally right before the 2nd MJ mission, she tries to talk to Peter, but he's not taking her seriously because of his addiction to the suit at this point. With this, she felt like she was out of options and decided to go nuclear and post the article as her way of calling out Peter on his bs. Sure, granted it wasn't the best course of action to write a hit piece against your spouse and may also be a little selfish, but characters are not always meant to make the best, most righteous decisions. These are character flaws, not writing flaws. Don't confuse the two to be the same.

People say that Mj was the only one in the wrong here, but you have to look at the circumstances leading up to this. Peter's personality started to change when he had the symbiote, leading him to do things that were completely out of character for him. And yet he still refused to get rid of it despite the fact that Harry needs it or he'll die and that he even tried to kill Mj (I know it wasn't actually him and it was just the symbiote in that moment but still). It works well here considering the symbiote plotline is an allegory for addiction. Keep in mind, the symbiote wasn't just controlling Peter, but it was putting all of his suppressed negative thoughts on full display, which is the same effect that alcohol or drugs would have on someone in the real world. Ultimately it was all Venom's doing, but that doesn't make anything he said here less wrong. Mj posting her story was probably her way of calling Peter out on his bs since he didn't care enough to listen to her. She was just posting the TRUTH after all. Though granted, there were still probably many better ways of going about this than posting a hit piece against your spouse, especially when it comes to worrying about your job. This also plays into her character flaw of her frustrations with Peter prioritizing himself over her. I think both of them were in the wrong here, and this scene cleverly portays both characters and their flaws throughout the story. Oh yeah, and insert Homelander reference here I guess

My one issue with this scene is where it comes in the story. If it came before Peter/the Symbiote tried to kill/scare the shit out of MJ it would've gone over so much better. But they just don't tell him about the night before? Seriously?
