Instead of doing a full detox I’ve been keeping track of the kits I’ve completed and for every two I’m completing I’m allowing myself to buy one. So far it has been going well and anytime I haven’t spotted anything I was to buy I’ve been banking my allowance so that I can buy multiple kits in the future. It has been a good way for me to avoid FOMO but keeping myself accountable so that I can start to reduce the total number in my stash. Whenever you decide to do make sure it doesn’t stress you out because this craft is supposed to help you relax 💜

I don’t think I could ever deny myself, but maybe committing to completing kits in my stash prior to kitting up new buys. I also struggle with FOMO. 😅

Hi Michaela I stumbled over your channel by searching for 'detox' videos. Even though it's already one month old maybe you see my comment 🙂 1 year ago I started diamond painting - only 9 month later I had 60 kits in my stash... then I saw Lisette's detox and decided I have to do something similar especially as I had the same thing with puzzling once and have also there a huge stash... I thing I have hobby material for the next 10 years😳. Same as you I think I would never be able to do a full stop such as Lisette did. Her accomplishment is very impressive but no way I am gonna resist for 10 years 🤪 thus in May I started a detox but with a loophole which allows me to buy one painting every 6 I have finished so that the stash decreases but still I can take something from my whishlist twice a year. Will follow you channel wondering what you will come up with at the end IF you start a detox at all 👀

I put myself on a low buy a few months ago. It has to be something that really speaks to me now for me to get it. It’s been working well except last weekend I ended up getting 3 that I couldn’t pass up (office, gothic girl, makeup routine) lol but I passed on Hades by Margret Morales even though she is my top artist, because I don’t love darker colors. I tell ya it was hard bc I’m a completionist and have all her others, but I did it and still don’t regret it. For me the low buy by being more selective was a good way to go. Can’t wait for your live!!

Re Detox; I'm not on a detox but... 1- I have a limited budget and space, so that stops me from going too crazy. 2- I try not to buy paintings that are too similar to those I already have. 3- I also try to think about if I'll genuinely like working on a piece. For example, I might love the artwork, but I might not necessarily wanna spend 50 hours working on a piece that is primarily a bunch of shades of the same color. 4- Sometimes I also just need to remind myself that there will be pieces in the future that I will find just as beautiful. 5- I know some people think, "oh I'll just get it and destash it if I change my mind later." I know myself and my anxiety enough to know that I won't want to deal with all that comes with destashing (posting, messaging, transactions, packing, shipping). I hope you find a solution that works for you! 💜

So I totally get where you are coming from. For me, I don’t think at this point I could do a stash detox BUT I have cut my buying down a lot. So what I do, even if I think the art is stunning.. I think so I really need it.. and most important.. am I seriously going to work on it. So, long story short… if I don’t gasp when I see it, I don’t need it and I will either put it on my wish list or not get anything. Yes, sometimes I hit a mental block of finding stuff to post videos about.. and I used to post 4-5 videos a week but like you, I got burned out. So if you are ok if your numbers drop a little, then scaling back is not a big deal. It really helped me mentally.

I feel the same way with my current WIP, feels like it's never gonna be finished 😅 I started it in November 2023 and have been working on it off and off since, but in between, I have done other kits. I currently have 2 rows left on it (Christmas Eve at the Workshop by Dakota Daetwiler), and then I can start my next diamond painting!! 😊

@MichaelaReneee it looks amazing so far. All the blue in it has been a bit tiring at times, though. There's around 20 shades of blue in it 😅 After that is Stacked Pumpkins with Sunflowers, then Cardinal Family. I have a list of the next 18 paintings I want to work on. 😊

Idk if u heard about it or even care to try it, but there's a hack where u if u use wax or putty in ur pen u can dip it on a damp paper towel and then u can place ur ABs. It won't stick or take the coating off and obviously makes it go by faster. I tried it and I love it! I use the DAC wax container and cut up a lint free wipe, put them in there and put some water in it. I also have a super big case of FOMO but I has no job and money like that so I'm always missing out and it hurts me!🥺💔

Yes I have been in a filming slump. I batch film and schedule out so sometimes I get away with procrastinatin. I love that you and Courtney are friends. I found you both at the same time ans have been a lurker lol. Then you had the live and was like yup I'm keeping them in my consistent list of content I wanna watch!

I think the destash Lisette did is cool and I caught the last few videos which took me to her channel but I could neverrrrr 😂 for some reason I have the hardest time reminding myself that you and Courtney are not the same person 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😂 I have no idea why but I’ve came to the realization you’re not the same at least two different times 😂
