Hmm the 4th Commandment says to "Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy"..."but the 7th day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God"..."rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:10-11. Like marriage, God established The Sabbath at beginning of creation. To remember something means that it has already been established or said. I am confused when you say that it doesn't matter what day we keep the Sabbath. It's not for us to choose what day to keep the Sabbath. According to the Bible God has told us what day to keep holy; Throughout the new testament when it speaks about Jesus keeping the Sabbath along with disciples. I haven't studied anything about Jesus or the disciples choosing what day to call the Sabbath and keep it. Bible says if love me, keep my commandments.

The Lord has been convicting me about the need for an official sabbath in my life and just two weeks ago I decided to dedicate my Monday's (as the weekends are just too busy). I woke up this morning (Monday) and really battled to focus because I've been physically and mentally exhausted trying to figure out how to move forward in my life and doing A LOT of comparing. I was tempted by distractions continually as I attempted to read my devotion and pray but I persevered and a couple hours later I felt a release so I said to myself great, my FOCUS and peace has returned and I can now relax and rest a while, let me chill by watching a sermon....Opened up KZbin (and resisted the temptation to watch a bunch of nonsense lol) and saw the title of the message! IKNEW it was for ME! You just described exactly what I've been battling the past week or so. Thank you soooo much anointed man of God. Please keep on keeping it alll the way REAL. God is specific. He told Naaman to dip in the water 7 times and for the Israelites to march around the walls of Jericho 7 times. Why would He be less specific for something as extravagantly important as the ten commandments that He personally wrote? Saturday is the true Sabbath day of rest. Sunday is the counterfeit day of rest to come together and worship that the Catholic church instituted. Six days we must labor, but the SEVENTH DAY is the rest day, it is mandatory according to God's law. Saying it doesn't matter, doesn't matter, God says it matters, that settles it. Enough rebelling to hold on to tradition, just accept. Obey the word of God over the word of man that wants to put church tradition over a thus sayeth the Lord

Pastor. I've been following y'all on KZbin for as long as y'all have been posting, and y'all have DEF been encouraging! But I've always struggled with this topic today because of this question: How do I differentiate personal responsibility from God's sovereignty? Like, He's given me such big, BIG dreams and shown me things, but I sometimes struggle with where to "stop," perse? Like, "resting" to me feels like I'm wasting time cause the dreams are so big and He's given me plenty of ideas to work on. But when I'm resting (i.e. not working on my craft) I feel like I'm not taking what God says seriously. There's also this belief (that I can't shake) that I won't be living long, so that's extra pressure. It may be a satanic attack to wear me out, but this belief of a short life with big, big dreams has been around since childhood. Idk. I'm okay with never seeing the dream. I just want it done so He can say "Well done." How do you rest when you have assignments like this? Also, Elijah is one of my favorite people in the bible (along with Joseph, the "dreamer"), so I recognize how necessary resting is before doing something in God's name, but...How do I tell what I'm supposed to do versus how much God is controlling? Idk, maybe it's none of my business, lol. But I just wanna complete His will before I go. Love y'all @redefinedtv!!!

Yesss I totally relate to this, I battle with the same thing in terms of being fruitful and not wanting to waste time, yet trying to 'stay in step with the spirit' and not rush ahead of Gods 'pace of grace'. I read Proverb 21:5 just yesterday and it spoke to me about not being hasty, but then I can read another scripture about not being lazy and making the best of the time we have and question whether I'm doing enough. An apple tree, Pastor Jon Courson says, does not labour to produce apples. It produces fruit by being an apple. We are created to worship in truth and in Spirit. None of us was created for the sole purpose of working. If we know why we are working (by truth) but are not in the Spirit then it does not please God. Our work is our worship. Hebrews 4:9-10 says we have acquired the rest that was promised. Slowing down to be with God teaches us to work from there. As for wasting time, time spent with God is never wasted time. I mean Jesus woke up and spent time with His Father. He was in the desert for 40 days and nights after baptism when He could have been out there ministering. Being with God is infinitely more important than the assignment. Assignment is good but relationship is greater. If we are on assignment but not in fellowship rest we become empty. Rest reminds us it's not about us or the assignment, it's all about God. Long but I hope it gives a glimmer of light.
