Shannon Rugani is a California-born artistic
powerhouse who began her career as one of
the youngest company members in San
Francisco Ballet history. After transitioning to
Broadway as part of the Tony Award-winning
"An American in Paris," she emerged as singer-
songwriter EMPRESS® . Now, she's returning
to her ballet roots as a composer, creating a
groundbreaking symphony based on Marilyn
Monroe's life for Oregon Ballet Theatre. Most
recently, she's embraced her newest role as a
mother to her daughter, born in January 2024.
