Usman pushed Masvidal against that cage like any logical wrestling based fighter would do going up against a striker like Masvidal. If Masvidal is so great why couldn't he use technique to get out of a simple clinch? The are several gold nuggets on this training... such as using pushing the neck to stand and create distance, in a real live scramble that could save you from getting crushed by a larger guy. Create the distance, quick jab and over-hand to close it. As they were noting, the scramble fatigues the arms significantly therefore the opponent would have a hard time keeping hands up to defend punches.

@@djbobby224 pretty much. Keeping Usman off may be difficult, but getting him off is what's important. Also Jorge is very sneaky on clinch breaks, any little gap he likes to fill it with strikes so Usman will also need to work on his clinch defence, especially on the break. If a second fight happens, it will be more stand up I think. I could be wrong, but Jorge is a worker, he will grind in the gym until he feels he can compete with Usman grappling better than he did last time. If Usman gets stuck standing with Jorge, he's gonna have a rough night. Usman is relentless though, you stuff 15 takedown? Here comes another one. He knows his strengths and plays to them very very well. It's such a great match up. Both guys are crazy talented and very different.

He clearly had a grappling heavy camp since he was supposed to be facing gilbert and its not like his strategy would be to strike with jorge.

Throw a hook followed by elbow on retracting the arm hit with a back fist and a quick jab at very end of retracting arm reach, so you hit four times with one swing if the arm brother, it's like a wheel motion in the bids mechanic of your shoulders hips and back but it all comes from the one arm in a flowing motion and speed, so four solid hits can be heard in less than 2 seconds You can use your other hand as the target, set it in front, side, over head, low, it works great once you get the mechanics of it and flows like water, so no need to even hit a bag to train with it and get the technique developed so it becomes reflex and not thought. If you want to see what I mean I'll make a video for ya man, but this will add to the no crotch sniffing game anymore, if your hitting twice or four times as much as most fighters with one throw of the arm, they'll be sniffing blood and sweat on canvas instead! Nope! We all wanted to see it, but that's never gonna happen. Usman can just wrestlefuck him whenever he likes. That's why I adore fighters like Stipe Miocic and Justin Gaethje. They are strikers who actually care about other aspects of the fight. People like Masvidal just relied on their hands, and then went ''Oops!'' When they came up against a wrestler and got treated like a child. Masvidal is 36. Doubt he'll ever get his wrestling up to a standard wherein he can compete with wrestle based fighters. The problem is that apparently, nobody explains to fighters like him that takedown defense is useless if you can't demotivate your opponent from simply trying again. He stopped 80% of Usman's takedowns. It didn't help, because Usman would just hold onto his toes, push him against the fence, and hold him there for another 4 minutes.

So many comments I can write and every single one of them would just make me sound like a Fanboy. So I'll just say this. Homie right here is A FUCKING ANIMAL. I remember back in the early 2000's watching the fights on KZbin and seeing this dude fight the second fight against Ray. At the time I would have never imagined he would become who he's become. And seeing him now, if it wasn't for the fact that they pointed him out that he's the same dude from those videos a decade and a half ago I would have never put 2 and 2 together and realized it's the same dude. Damn you've come a long way. And I got to say is not very often that you can LITERALLY say that a fighter "grew up figuring for a living on the streets". Many people claim it. But this dude is the real deal. Much love and respect to the grind.

That overhand at 2:31 is beautiful, love how it comes over the top of the guard making it more difficult to block. That looks like the same one that knocked out Darren Till

yea but he needs to be careful, an uppercut with him like that is game over
@MartinRodriguez-cu6vl4 жыл бұрын
@@phreneticCh It could happen but it's not likely, he sets it up first with the jab. I mean look at how he KO'd Till who had never been finished. Not to mention Jorge's chin, he will likely just eat it if that did happen.
