Sevierville, TN's small-town vibe, is still very much intact and alive for all to see and enjoy. With endless charm and a personality all its own, this friendly and relaxed place makes you feel right at home from the start. While there has been major growth and development in the area within the past few years (with the addition of many things to do, new delectable restaurants, and boutique shops), it still remains a nice place to live and visit that is not in any way a Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge environment. There is still a strong sense of community in Sevierville wherever you go. While 17,000++ people live there, everyone seems to know one another, and they all share a tight-knit bond. The locals in Sevierville are so welcoming, which is why many tourists leave with hopes and dreams of returning for another visit or to make it their new home. I hope and pray that Sevierville doesn't get that destructive Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge bug. For if they do, they will regret it. Fyi, Timothy: John Sevier once lived in Jonesborough, TN, as the first governor of the short-lived state of Franklin from 1785 to 1788. Jonesborough was the capital of Franklin until the capital was moved to nearby Greeneville, TN. Sevier was a key figure in the development of the State of Franklin and negotiated treaties with Native Americans.

It's good to know your history, and Sevierville has given folks a lot of historical facts and pictures about the town. How nice (for me) to get out of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and in an area I could easily live in. It appears you did pick the perfect time to take your tour of this beautiful, orderly, and clean town.

Nope, I was supposed to be in NC the day I filmed in TN, put tropical storm Debby rained me out. I have already filmed 3 more towns in TN and then I will be in NC on my next trip.

I had planned on being along the NC coast, but tropical storm Debby rained me out in both Carolinas. And I had to go into TN because I have already filmed every town in Western, NC. But I will be back in NC on my next trip.

Are you going to Virginia next? Lots and lots of small little downtowns for you to see. I want to recommend Staunton. There is a surprising amount of very very good restaurants on the Main Street. You will not regret visiting.
