Nice walk and talk tour of Newport, TN, Timothy! I'm so sorry you didn't get a chance to visit Jonesborough while you were in the eastern part of Tennessee. You really missed a true gem, a very kind, beautiful place that is not only a jewel of the 18th century, but also an awesome environ with a plethora of historic buildings and one of a kind shops, and many historic artifacts; a true history buffs paradise that will make one walk on their eyebrows. 😅

A nice little town Timothy. Shows some signs of decay, but overall, not bad at all. And yes, if they can, they need to take advantage of that river. Thank you for the walk-around.

you should have gone over and visited Incredible Tiny Homes at 850 Industrial Road. they are there in Newport and are the best tiny home builders in the country along with having the largest tiny home community in the country. they are doing wonderful work and helping people who need a cheaper way of living. GO TINY LIVE FREE !!!

@@TimothyFrench they are open monday through thursday, but i think if you call and ask for Randy Jones, one of the owners, he lives on site and may schedule you a personal tour. you will see how all the homes are set up and how many different styles they offer. its really a great place.

What towns that you've visited stand out (in a good way) Timothy?

Everyone has a different taste, but I love the small towns of Hayesville, NC, and Lake Lure, NC. As for median-size towns, I like Forest City and Southern Pines. And if I were to choose a city, it would be Winston-Salem, NC.

The church got bought out earlier this year. Rhea Mims is a place for over 60 years and older housing by Newport Housing authority.

I didn't realize Newport, TN was so vacant. I didn't see any grocery stores, or major stores to shop in. Not many restaurants. Nice name "Newport." Someone needs to invest in this town.

All the big chains and franchises are on the outskirts of town, which hurts the town center I’m sure. Thanks for watching and posting 👍

@@TimothyFrench not true, there is big grocery store close to where you started the video. But when you come back you should see what the flood did to the downtown area.
