Serenity is definitely alive in Blythewood, SC! The town also has a strong equestrian tradition and is well known as being the home of the University of South Carolina's Equestrian Center, which once served as the training ground for a US Olympic Equestrian team's horsemen and horsewomen. As it relates to Blythewood holding their 4th of July celebration on July 3rd, there are a lot of towns and some cities that now do this everywhere so that town/city employees who would otherwise have to work the fireworks celebration, will not have to give up the official July 4th holiday (which they too are entitled to observe free of a work requirement) to do so.
