This was really cool for me to watch. This dress was almost identical to my mother’s prom dress. She had me much older in life and has since passed away. I have a picture framed of her wearing her dress in front of her home. I’ve always wanted to have a replica. Thank you for all the time and work you put into this dress/video. Omg it reminds me of one of the dresses from Princess Protection Program, like the short ones they wore before the mean girl ruined them. The ruffle fabric also reminded me of the live action Alice in Wonderland.

I have three cats. One likes to lay on my ironing board, one likes to lay on my sewing chair. I am wholly at their mercy, as we all know who owns who in our house. Also, I really love how the sky blue tulle works with the two rando base colors.😂 It is pretty crazy, but they all work beautifully!

I love fifties and early sixties fashion and you can't beat the glamour of the forties. I'm impressed that you see and are so young, but I'm going to say one thing. I truly think you are underachieving with your simple flounced crinolines. I looked at making a Bellville Sasoon ball gown from a Butterick pattern. The crinoline instructions called for one layer of net tulle without the flounces you use. The ball gown silhouette was created by sewing tiers of little rolled barrels of tulle stitched at the top to the single layer. The effect was like a hoop but softer because there was no frame. If you want that big enormous ball gown look, I think that's the ticket.
