Fun fact: In the 18th century and earlier purple was actually a color for higher class people and even royalty! This was because purple was quite a rare color, which meant it was more expensive. They also wore that shade of purple and not just dark. So i love that you chose one of the higher class colors at the time to show the wealth people had at these balls.
@FelicityUwU
@FelicityUwU Жыл бұрын
Poorer people could achieve purple from dying something first blue then red or vice versa, but it wasn't as good a colour at the and and didn't last as long as the purple dye the rich were using, so the purple dye was there to stay.

It would be really cool to have a ball with both 18th century costume and classic/sweet lolita so we can compare and contrast the lolita interpretation with the real deal, what was kept, what has changed. This would be especially good if you compared two dresses inspired by the same source material as a couple of Angelic Pretty dresses are pseudo-reproductions of specific dresses like the Madame Pompadour dress.

A dream, 3 years in the making, at the Versai no less! I just started this video 52sec in, and you're telling me you put, of ALL things, this once-in-a-lifetime experience off until the last minute??? I'm going to bet it will be stunning, but I would have loved to have seen you turn this into a series. Spending a lot of time and money (sponsored) on this to really WOW us and yourself. Maybe a thought for something just as spectacular in the future? What am I saying, there is absolutely no beating going to the Versa for an 18th-century Ball! Follow-up: Yes, stunning! As previously stated, would have liked to see what you could really do. And you're right, no one has to sew their own dress, but isn't that what we watch you for?
@crescentshay

see i never PLAN to put things off until the last minute, it just happens that way 😅 in this case, the month before the ball castify asked me to make a dress out of phone cases AND instagram invited me to the met gala, so May became a very very busy month (and i lost most of my versailles dress-making time). But also these were all such cool projects (and i went to the met gala?!?!) so i'm not complaining haha with the way the youtube algorithm demands consistant content i'll always be doing some shorter projects, but my goal is to try use those shorter build as a buffer to execute more longer, month-long projects that i can really put time and love into!
