I Made a 2.5 Foot Tall Seahorse! - Chainsaw Carving by Kyra Waits

Hello Friends! I made this 2.5 foot tall wooden seahorse from a pine log that had split in two. So to start I was working with a half circle shaped log. It’s been a while since I made a seahorse, and certainly several years since I made one this big! I hope you enjoy the video! In the future I will be making more videos with voice overs so I can let you in on what’s going on, but during the editing of this one, I had a lovely sinus infection, so not this time. But, maybe the next!

Uhh Batman! Or a DC theme. Awesome job on the sea horse! Great work as always! When you’re carving and cutting on your work are you just going off memory or do you have a reference picture?

Make a series of chibi maniacs from old movies (Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface and others) but with a more proportional head. Maybe even a little bit in a different style to make it more interesting for you. P.S. And in the wake of the popularity of Palworld, I remembered about Pokemon, you can still do any variation of them) Сделайте серию чиби-маньяков из старых фильмов (Майкл Майерс, Фредди Крюгер, Кожаное лицо и другие), но с более пропорциональной головой. Возможно даже немного в разном стиле что бы тебе было интереснее. P.S. А еще на волне популярности Palworld вспомнил про покемонов, можно еще любую их вариацию делать)

I love how this sea horse is turning out. Great carve! Do you use a carving bar on your chainsaw, or just the standard bar and chain it comes stocked with? I just bought the Stihl MSA 70, so very similar to your saw. Just wondering, because once I learn safe handling, I want to start learning to chainsaw carve. Wondering if I can do it with just the stock bar and chain it comes with?
