Another way to improve this set up, get Linux and XFCE, then install the "Chicago95" theme. A pixel perfect complete make over of a Linux desktop to look exactly like Windows 95. Popped into my recommended feed... and I get why. I do love that mouse, and am considering it for my beige sleeper PC build (with CRT battlestation, because, yeah, retrogeek) that is deep in progress currently. I have nothing that I would consider using with that system that isn't either disappointing or black (even my damn trackball mouse is black). That is EXACTLY what I was looking for - so, um, thanks. And if I didn't have a num-pad for that system I would so embrace it. I love the Model M touch and feel - but my holy grail is the Apple Extended II from the very early 90s; the adapters are weird - and were very expensive for a bit - but it has a very pleasing clickity-clackity that doesn't keep everyone awake across the house... Cool stuff, I'll keep checking in with your channel.

I use the Lofree at my job (with one of the Epomaker keyboards with the little monitor-style screens on it), and you are correct, the mouse is too small to be truly comfortable. The style is great, the buttons are nice enough, but it causes my hand to cramp as the day goes on. If they ever introduce a larger one, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I also have that 8BitDo keyboard in the Commodore style at my home desk. It's really pleasant to use, as is the NumPad.

The IBM Model M this keyboard/numpad combo is styled after is from 1984, designed for high-wear office use. Home computer keyboards of the 90s were generally much worse, due to value engineering. The average household had a Compaq rubber dome 104-key with single-color ABS, stamped keycaps. Mac users had it better, as many Apple keyboards still used discrete Alps switches.

That desk had my PC on it, but i got a large glass L shaped desk... glass... meaning PC can't... be on it (hefty fugger') ... but its just tall enough that under the desk (on a platform) it wouldn't fit.... i'm at a damn loss... idk what my question even is at this point damn. @lord_haven11142 ай бұрын
Three options as far as I can see. 1. Get longer cables for the monitor and go wireless for your mouse and keyboard and put the computer beside the desk instead of under. 2. Get a new computer, maybe mini atx or an actual mini desktop they sell. Those tiny cubes lol. 3. Measure things and buy a practical desk that you know will work before buying it. Plenty of L shaped ones have computer bays or at least have room to have the pc on the floor under it. Or an actual computer desk and have another table perpendicular for whatever you needed the L part for.

LED refers to the backlighting, and LCD refers to the panel that produces color. Basically any and all modern displays that aren't an OLED are both an LED and an LCD. There was a time when LEDs were new to the scene for LCD backlighting, so having LED backlighting was something worth advertising.
