Reface CS is overlooked as being "a toy" and because it can't save patches internally (I use MIDI-OX to backup patches to my laptop). I think its great because it has tons of mojo and because the way they chose the reduced control set enables great sounds. Not only that but great sounds are achievable in moments and more often than not I dial them in from scratch because it's so quick and easy and doesn't kill my flow.

12:50 "Lay it down as it sounds". Absolutely right. When you know the sound you want, leaving it till later is not only wasting time and inviting endless finessing (that kills the mix) but your subsequent parts aren't reacting to the real thing so they won't be tight with it.

Roland System 8 is a fantastic synth - very underrated and often overlooked. Its Jupiter 8 and Juno 60/106 is near perfect - should be a studio staple for everyone. The actual System 8 synth engine is great, too - and yeah - that classic Roland step sequencer is a blast to use and super easy.

Thank you for posting! I will definitely check out both your albums. I am slowly getting into electronic music.. was already planning on Roland’s VT-4 as next purchase. (I have MBP 15”, JBL 8” monitors getting fed by Peavey USB to XLR interface, Native Instruments M32 and planning on more Native Instruments Jam/Maschine as well as Roland’s TR-8s or groove boxes.. ). Releasing an album for you tubers to use is a great idea. Thank you!

Rachel! What would you recommend for someone wanting to start making music this way and slightly New to looping and really new to looping in Abelton. I have been producing music in Native Instruments Maschine using their Gear to make music has been easy and have 5+ Years with their DAW but Want to start getting into Abelton because I want to add my vocals and create the song Live as I feel that is just how my brain works and creativity is cultivated. What Hardware would you first recommend getting into Live looping and controls? How would you go about Learning Abelton looping?

Your drums production is also very interesting. I loved when I saw in 2020 documentary that you had a live hihats recorded. :)
