I made a BIG turtle TRADE with Paul Cuffaro!

I've got too many fly river turtles in tubs and they like to fight. I need to find a new home for one and I know just the place! Time to hook my good friend Paul Cuffaro up. Turns out he has a big surprise in store for me too!

Cornellius is a female. Bullfrogs can be differentiated by the size of the tympanic membrane (ear) females are about the same size as the eye, males are nearly double the size. Hope this helps!

That Matamata has shell fungus. They are a very delicate species that usually only accept live food (fish) in captivity. They also don’t like deep water so the rec pond isn’t suitable. You might want to consult Chris Leone for specific care parameters as he has one (named “Jata”.) I raised two hatchling Matamatas a while back but gave them to someone who could provide proper care when they outgrew their enclosure. Also, why didn’t Paul have his own Fly River in that big indoor pond, it looks miserable in that (too small) tank. Perhaps because that pond looks polluted asf? TBH it looked less than stellar during the last visit. I guess he’s focusing on his “saltwater pond” since all the reef fish in his house tank became parasitized when he added invertebrates, against sound advice. Apparently his main objective there was to hatch a Horn Shark from it’s egg case. I don’t respect “animal hoarders” who buy expensive animals for clicks (making sure to relate each one’s price) to impress his audience without doing any research regarding their care in advance.

I have a feeling Jacob Feder does the same thing. He’s building his own private zoo to impress his audience. He also never wears a mask or wears gloves when he goes into his primate enclosure.

Any good keep would quarantine a new animal before introducing it to their collection, NOT just put it in with rare species and go about their day like it's no big deal ... that's so reckless...who knows what that poor mata mata has -it could easily have zoonotic parasites, fungal, viral and/ or bacteria infections that. It can now spread to the other turtles in that pond...SMH He's so careless with these animals at times. I hope someone at least sees your post and suggest to him to consult Chris @Garden State about it"s care as a "refresher" since it's been so long since he's had one.

@@slaughterhater Perhaps but Jacob Feder seems to show a different level of care toward his animals. The enclosures are kept clean and (like his spotted cat cage) seem to be built with form following function such as water drainage being well thought out, etc.. He doesn’t give off “hoarder” vibes the way certain other animal “influencers” do. A year ago another KZbin animal “hoarder” lost two black-throat monitors over Christmas due to wanton carelessness. I have a low threshold for laziness when one is responsible for other lives.

Mata Mata is probably better off in the more shallow wetland filter area. It's my understanding that they don't do well in deep water. Call Chris at Garden State before you release the Mata Mata... he'll give you the deets :)

Can we get a cross over between you and the channel Tobies Troop? I believe they are also in Jupitor. They are responsible advocates for saving our native snakes, rescuing injured snakes, they herp in the field as well as care for a snake and tortoise collection of their own. They build their own outdoor primate enclosures, which be a way for you to learn a cheaper means of building monitor enclosures.

best view to a fly river is actually the side , that pig nose , always funny to see , can always custom make or get a used fish tank and invert it in the pond , some stands to support the inverted tank and fill it up with water , that way fish or turtle can swim up

I think you should build an outdoor entertainment area on your patio by the pond...in the style of Paul's brick facade pond. Only do it u shaped and make it bar width. Then you will have a lovely cookout/entertainment area and a functional pond for the fly River to fly around in

G’day mate. If you build a tank with viewing glass outside be ready to be scraping algae off it all the time. My suggestion would be to demolish Buttercups old cage and build a 3-4ft deep tank that takes up the same footprint that Buttercups cage does and Chuck as big a window in it as you can afford. Would be way less algae growth on window and you would have a warm place to put cold sensitive turtles when needed. Just a thought mate , I realise it would be expensive and you ain’t made of money. Oh and call the Mata Scull Crusher. Cheers.
