Well well well, lookie what we have here!!! Great job Paul!!! I simply love the fact you have a custom Paul’s collectibles X Wing helmet!!!! Your call sign is Caramel 2 , Grey leader! 😂 So cool Paul, now, could I do a RR custom Empire helmet to compliment yours 🤔🤔🤔
@PaulsCollectibles Жыл бұрын
"Caramel 2, Gray Leader!" I love it! And thank you for the kind words, Luke. It didn't turn out how I had hoped, but it was still fun to do and I made use of that terrible custom Teva helmet for something good. And if you really do decide to make a Reynolds Reviews stormie helmet or something, you gotta film the process. I would LOVE to see that!

Awesome! Really cool project. I liked how it turned out!

Thanks, Foxium! I really appreciate that. As you can see, I'm not very artistic, but I learned a lot and had fun doing it. And at least this way, the helmet comes out of storage and can be displayed as something, rather than being hid away in shame! Thanks for checking out the video as well!

@@PaulsCollectibles thank you for the reply! I have bought 3 black series helmets due to your reviews and am happy with each one of them! Love your channel.

The helmet came out fantastic Paul! A lot better than I could do 😂

Thanks, Christopher! That's very kind of you. It didn't turn out how I planned, but thankfully I had the option to go a different direction with the weathering! haha! Thanks for checking this on out.

Thank you very much, Stuart! It didn't come out perfect by any means, but I did learn a lot during the process and had fun throughout.

Another great bit of creativity from you. Love it.❤ Missed opportunity to put your name on it in Aurebesh. Next time 😊
@PaulsCollectibles Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Colette! And DANG! You're right! I should have slipped my name on the bottom back or something in Aurabesh. I may just do that yet... Great idea!

Great work Paul. You actually used the stencil for the Aurubesh backwards. The word is YOU but you have it on there as OUY. Great work though! The helmet came out great!
@PaulsCollectibles11 ай бұрын
Thanks, Matt. You're far too kind. It didn't turn out how I wanted, so I issued a FRAGO and went with the weathered/beat up look! haha! And that's funny! Of course I used the stencil backward. It figures! haha! Thanks for checking this one out.

Brilliant Job, Paul! This Helmet is a Home Run! When are you going to start selling these on your channel? 🤩

Thank you so much, SteveO! And don't I wish. This took me weeks to complete and taping it off each time about drove me insane! haha! I think this one is going to be a "one-off" for sure! haha!

i find it easy to use electrical tape for the curves its not very cost efficient but it makes the lines very clean because the tape is stretchable. this looks like a really great outcome tho congrats !!! :)

Oh, crap, Vooni! Electrical tape! That's a great idea. I wish I had thought of that before. I'm definitely going to try that on my next project. And thank you for the compliment on the helmet. You're too kind! I'm just lucky that the helmets in the OT were trashed, so I could get away with mine being all mucked up! haha! Thank you for stopping by and checking out the video. I appreciate it!

That looks fantastic Paul. Masking curves is a bit of an art form and takes some time to get right. When weathering I use at least 2 different colours (usually black and brown) in different passes. It adds some depth to the weathering that you just don't get with a single colour pass. I love what you did with the lettering, that looks so good. You took a helmet that was a bit of a dog to be honest and made it into something unique and your own. What's not to like???

Thanks, Paul! I really enjoy your comprehensive insight each time. I used two colors to weather both my Transport Trooper helmets, but I got nervous to use more than one on the white helmet. Frankly, I'm probably going to take your suggestion and throw that helmet back under some lights and add more weathering and in a different color. The helmet just looks like the pilot was handling it with oily gloves right now. haha! And thank you for the kind words. It didn't turn out the way I had hoped, but its till looks kinda cool and I'm happy I tried it!

Looks great! I hope to customize a resistance helmet in much the same way. I didnt see anyone else respond, but the aurebesh on the stencil says "thank you". The way youve painted it on spells UOY, but with backwards letters. This works though because sometimes when aurebesh is backwards that means its capitalized.
@PaulsCollectibles6 ай бұрын
Thank you very much, John! haha! And yeah, one other person mentioned I had put the stencil on reversed as well, but I did not know about the capital letters thing. I appreciate that. Also, thank you so much for stopping by and checking out the video. I hope you resistance helmet project is fun and comes out beautifully!

That came out brilliant Paul, definitely better l8ke 5hat than the so called " custom " helmet they sent you, I look forward to seeing your black series, you could do a split screen or comparison video of the old "custom" version & your black series version, it will be like night & day. I have the trapper wolf ( Dave Filloni ) helmet & it's awesome.
@PaulsCollectibles11 ай бұрын
Thanks, Paul! I appreciate that. And that is a good idea. The Carson Teva helmet will be my first X-Wing Black Series, so I'm eager to get it in-hand. Glad to hear that the Trapper Wolf is good, so I bet the Teva helmet will be quality as well. It looks like you checked out quite a few of my videos today! Thanks! Let's see what else we're talking about...

My Hasbro black series helmet suddenly died. I have the Luke Skywalker X wing helmet. No power no lights , no voice simulation. I tried changing the batteries but no luck. Is there anything I can do to fix it?
@PaulsCollectibles6 ай бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that, Joseph. Unfortunately, I am woefully under-qualified to give you an answer on that. When I buy these helmets, it's rare that I even put the batteries in them because most of the electronics inside are of no interest to me. I merely display them without ever wearing them. Consequently, I know nothing about systems, their shelf life, or how to repair them. I do hope you find a solution soon.

Thanks, Michael! It didn't turn out how I planned, so I had to improvise, and go a different direction. It was a learning process for sure! And if you tried to post links, unfortunately they won't come through. The channel is set to prevent people from posting links since I was getting so many spam-bots, porn-bots, and other people posting inappropriate links in my comments sections. And in any case, I don't have Facebook any more, so I would not have been able to see it. Is there an example of what you saw on Twitter or KZbin somewhere? I'd be interested in checking it out.
