I Made A DOPE Beat With This Sample Chopping Technique!!

I don't even bother counting the timing of the samples. I just make a bunch of chops that sound could when played together then adjust my temp accordingly. I don't even make my chops in the traditional way. I look for moments within sounds that aren't generally heard. Most people always shoot for the beginning of transients. I just chop wherever. If it sounds good it sounds good. To all the people out there getting into sampling for the first time. Learning all these techniques are cool. But eventually, learn to develop your own style of chopping that's unorthodox. Otherwise you'll just end up sounding like everyone else. Not bashing the traditional techniques. They have their place. But developing your own will be much more beneficial long term.

I loooove chopping 3/4 time samples. It makes production more fun and challenging. Im currently in a beat making session rn with a 3/4 venenzulan sample where i chopped it huge but i made it work.

So I did a little search and all I could find was that with the Mikro you have to chop your samples inside the software rather than with the controller. If you find out how to do it with the controller def let me know

So, when you talk about making chops of a 3/4 sample on the 1st and 3rd beat, that means some of the chops will be shorter and only last 1 beat, while some chops will be longer and last 2 beats. Is that right?
