As a Giants fan, I'd be surprised if they don't sign Ha Seong Kim. They've been the team rumored to be most interested, they badly need a middle infielder, Kim and Jung Hoo Lee are best friends, and Kim played under BoMel in San Diego. I also think having two Korean players on the same team is super appealing, and maybe they can be South Korea's team the way the Dodgers are Japan's team, which could help recruit future Korean players that are posted.

I like Clay Holmes to the Twins, it gives us some back-end insurance we were lacking this past season. Duran was inconsistent when healthy and Jax was phenomenal, but outside of them it was really dicey. I think creating a three headed dragon at the back of the pen with Duran, Jax, and Holmes would keep our high leverage guys from burning out and Rocco could continue to pick his matchups since he doesn't strictly use one guy in the 9th. Having a three man closer by committee could elevate each of their respective games too

The trouble with Joc to Seattle is that stadium is a death trap for hitters. Players go there and see their numbers drop and chances for a strong contract evaporate (look at Teoscar, Jorge Polanco, Garver, Kolten Wong, Winker) Here's a list of players who have put up a qualified season with a .900+ OPS for Seattle since 2010 (15 years): Nelson Cruz (2015-2017) Here's a list of players who have put up a qualified season with an .800+ OPS in that same time frame: Nelson Cruz (2015-2018) Robby Cano (2014, 2016) Haniger (2018, 2021) Julio (2022-2023) Kyle Seager (2016) JP Crawford (2023) Ty France (2021) That's 7 players and 13 total seasons since 2010, not even 1 a year. While not all pitching parks are poverty franchises, most poverty franchises use pitching parks. Pitching is cheap, offense is expensive. By having a stadium that artificially deflates scoring, teams offer the illusion of appearing more competitive by losing home games 4-2 instead of 9-4. The Padres are a rare entity to exit the limbo of being a pitching park poverty team, but it took hundreds of millions to do it. Seattle will never change its ways. If I'm Joc, I'm hunting a long term contract or if one doesn't arise a short term deal in a stadium with a short porch.

Weather / climate does play a factor in Seattle. Especially in the early part of the season as evening games in April & May are cold & the ball doesn’t jump off the bat like it would in a warmer climate area. Seattle would have to overpay someone to come to Seattle, which this ownership would never do as they rather pocket the money themselves.
@parkercrossland4102 ай бұрын
@@S_Over_Street That or move the fences in, which they'd never do either. The current tandem of low batting average MLB environment and park that limits home runs means runs simply will not be scored there. But they'd rather lose 1-0 than 6-3 because it looks like a closer game.
@S_Over_Street2 ай бұрын
@@parkercrossland410 also too the players & coaches are also at fault as well. Their hitting coaches that got fired before Edgar Martinez took over in Mid August made things complex for them. When Edgar came in, he basically simplified it for them & that last month & half of the season the Mariners offense got better. Plus the leadership of Justin Turner in the clubhouse the last 2 months is what was missing earlier in the season. This team needs hitters, not power hitters. Speaking of T-Mobile Park, what Teoscar Hernandez said about the Batter’s eye backdrop past CF isn’t lined up directly to the batter’s box, making it visually harder to see the ball when pitched. Said many hitters in MLB notice this. This is something Mariners ownership needs to address if this is a problem with players in the league.

Normally, I would agree with you about Kikuchi being a good fit for the Cardinals. However, they are more interested in giving their younger players opportunities in 2025 while they revamp their minor league system. Sonny Gray says he wants to stay through this "reset" (their word). Fedde could be traded for prospects. Mikolas and Matz might be untradeable. They also have Pallante (lock) and McGreevy (semi-lock, 6th starter at worst) in the rotation. If they trade more than two of Fedde, Mikolas, and Matz, they could be looking to sign a cheap, free agent starter to cover innings until Quinn Matthews is deemed ready. However, I think Kikuchi would cost more than the type of starter they're likely to add. It will probably be more like Rich Hill or some guy who gets DFAd before the Rule 5 Draft. It will be a non-consequential deal, at best.

I have a bit of an odd one but I have a feeling that Pete Alonso is going to be a Yankee next season. The Yankees are in need of a solid bat at first base and Pete Alonso on a 1-3 year deal with a team option/player option seems like a good deal for both parties. Teams don't seem very interested in paying him exorbitantly this off-season with how meh last season was for him. The Yankees putting him in a very hitter friendly park might be a match made in heaven to unlock those 2019 juiced ball numbers. Plus Pete won't have to move cities which is also another reason Pete might want to become a Yankee.
