His performance in the 2006 postseason would have fit in perfectly with the 2022-2024 Phillies.

Do you think that the new difficulty with signing Soto might also have to do with Soto's real life contract numbers coming out and the Developers put out an update to bump up his demands?

This is so entertaining to watch because you're not treating it like other "experienced" players of this game. I can appreciate someone trying to make the game a challenge and realistic but there's almost never been why I play this game. You seem to embrace this this is a video game where you can live out a fantasy and I love watching someone play this game like I do: let's try to make as crazy a team as we can, trades and signings are the most fun part, and let's just have a good time simulating MLB and see how crazy it can get.

Jolly you HAVE to figure out how to do a Power Pros series. Hopefully they bring it back, there's a non-liscensed version of it at least on Playstation

Mets fan here: I'm convinced had Winker started the earlier games over JD Martinez (who i'm convinced hit the slump after his 1st kid was born) in the NLCS Mets win one of Games 3 or 4 with a Winker AB. Maybe the series goes 7.

We were told in Boston that AG was traded because he didn't like playing in Boston and wanted to go back to the West Coast. Maybe some truth but probably not the main reason.

You'd think Konerko should have won WSMVP in 05 since he was like THE GUY for that team anyway. Plus the pivotal HR

I don't understand how Turner gets a higher tier for producing half as much as IKF despite being paid about as much for 1 year as IKF does for 2024 plus 2025.

One nice thing about shopping players: you see players teams are more willing to trade. So even when there's an obvious best person to trade for, you now have a list of other people you can get for not very much.

What sort of sim is this where a team can go 80-82 and not only be good enough for a playoff stop but also sweep the WS??

When I signed Soto with the Mariners, I gave him 15 years with a player opt out after age 35 and on the last 2 seasons. The first 5 years were 30 AAV, the middle 5 were 35 AAV, and the final five were 60 AAV. Total (guaranteed) contract was 625/15, 41.66 AAV. Surprisingly, the last 5 years weren't tough to work around. His salary in the first 10 years was so low that I was able to invest so heavily into player development and extending my top prospects early that we stayed very competitive despite Soto making $60 million in his late 30s. It was a 15+ year dynasty.

I actually found Julio Rodriguez to be one of the most important players to grab in OOTP. Great defense and offense and he never wants crazy money. Signed him in one save in 2027 to a 7 year 150M deal somehow and he had 45 WAR in those 7 years.

Tricky Ricky is the best trainer because he's well rounded but also (and more importantly imo) has the best prevent arm rating. Arm injuries are the longest on average so preventing them is key and the gain from maxed out rehab is a few less months on an injury that could have been prevented entirely with maxed out prevention ratings. The prevention makes him the most likely best pick but the well roundedness on top of that makes him 1st ballot HoF.

In the Personnel screen in the upper right you can switch that from "SHOW: Entire Organization" to "sortable list" and then see all you hitting coaches at once, sort them by "teach hitting" and then immediately fire everyone worse than OK. Then do the same with your pitching coaches and managers and you've now very quickly cleared out everyone who's bad at their job.

The problem with the 2006 world series, is that Eckstein shouldn't have even been consider... Molina was absolutely the clear MVP, and Rolen also deserves props. But Eckstein wins it because of one hit. It's a five game series, basing it upon a clutch hit in one game was a bit silly, instead of basing it upon overall series performance. I'm fine if the series is 6 or 7 games and there is clutch going on, but ultimately in a five game series, the team is stomping the other team, give the MVP to the guy doing the majority of that work.

I'm making this statement before I have watched the entire video, and for the record I'm a Cardinal fan, and for the record, I think Big Papi is one of the most overrated players in the history of the game (even more so than Jeter) but his performance in the 2013 has to be up there in the greatest non pitcher performance in the world series ever.
