you can use the "current year block". Let me explain. You can make 12 costumes with numbers 1 through 12. Make sure to name the costumes the number the costume is showing. For example; when a costume is showing the number 4, the name should be 4. Just 4, nothing else. You can then go to your script and drag this code; "When green flag clicked, (forever loop), switch costume to current hour block! You can use this to put the time if you're making a ScratchOS game or something, because you know how computers show the time? (duh) You can put that in your computer game. I also saw a project where you can chat with Scratch, and when you turn of the project, it says "last seen: (your time)".

Oh, and for the minutes, it's way harder. You have to have 2 sprites for the minutes (to save time you're not making 59 costumes) and for example; "if current minute = 30 or 31 or 32 or 33 or 34 or 35 or 36 or 37 or 38 or 39 then set costume to 3. Else, switch costume to current hour." (this will be on the first minute sprite). On the second minute sprite, just do "switch costume to current minute" because that worked for me. If you don't have 2 sprites, when you do the "switch costume to current minute" it will only go to 9 and then once it reaches (hour):10, it will just reset to 0. So that's why on the second sprite, you do the "switch costume to current minute" code because it only goes to 9, but then resets to 0. However, the first minute sprite will be set to the first digit of the current minute.

i've also used the days since 2000 variable when i was making a pause detection system, which detects when the player pauses the game through some extension or turbowarp so it's also useful if you really hate your players and dont want them to pause

In fact, *days since 2000* is useful for making countdowns, and *current year = your year with combination of repeat until (boolean)* is also useful to repeat the countdown until the selected time.

abs of is useful for when you want to remove the - from a value, I've used this so many times which is crazy current ____ I've used for timers and some goofy cloud variable test where you can only play it once per day days since 2000 is better for timers because it's the most precise measurement for time in scratch distance to is the only one I haven't really used... If it had "distance to edge" as an option it would be so good for me because I was making a game with a scrolling background and moving sprites similar to battle cats, I used clones for the enemies and such but the problem with that is that they we're different sizes, I didn't want to use if touching edge because then the big guys would disappear a lot for no reason. I spent an hour and a half trying to figure out how to fix this problem and all of it could've been fixed using distance to edge yet IT DOESN'T EXIST 😭

Abs is also good for when you need identical checks for a value and its negative. It halfs the amount of checks needed. Also 1 question, as we have floor (removes the decimal) and ceiling (removes the decimal and adds 1), does round round to the nearest number as in if its lower that .5 it does floor otherwyse does cealing?

If your project uses time in any way, use the "days since 2000" block. It allows you to get coordinated UTC time, which is sometimes essential. It can also be used to calculate frametimes and thus accurate framerates as well.
