In this video I am starting to build out the base of the project, including a tree and wind powered water pump and using a mix of 3D prints and hand crafted miniatures.

Came to learn how to make a tree. Stayed for the chill-out diorama building.

The Tree has some of the best looking bark and greenery. It has a definite look of reality. Very nicely done. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I'm happy to see this project again. The detail on the tree is super realistic. Looking forward to the resin pour. I think the greens you used around the edges of the lake will make it look like water ducks would be attracted to 😊

That was my thought too, about the colour of the water. I may try a little blue colour in the water/resin to see if that will soften the green, but yes the resin pour, I think I am going to do that in three layers and they take 48 hours to cure, so putting it off for now until I get a bit more done on the outside first. 😊

Awesome tree! I never thought hot glue and wire could work so well together!

I really like how you did everything, but especially the tree! It looks so realistic. I think you should leave the windmill intact. Unless you are going for a more abandoned, neglected look. Right now, I like how tidy everything is. Charming little duck cottage.

Thanks for that, I can always come back later and break things up if I feel it's too neat and tidy, it's harder to put it back the other way. I think I will get it finished and then decide. It's super cute now it's starting to come together nicely. 😊

This looks amazing. You have such an eye for detail. You'd make the most incredible railroad model.

Haha, thank you Shyra, I actually get a few tips and tricks from railroad hobbyists so glad to see that it's come through my builds. I loved your Q&A video, did that feel a little weird answering so many questions about yourself? I'd find that is outside my comfort zone, where others are natural sharers.

Lucky ducks! Very appealing pond and beautiful tree. Here's a quirky bit of trivia for you: In the US, in the 19th and early 20th centuries, this type of windmill might have a windmill weight at the end of the arm instead of a blade. It could be anything but was most often a farm animal. They are very collectible today.

That is interesting and good to know, I assume that was pulled backwards and forwards to operate the pump or was the poor animal made to walk in a circle? It's nice that they are collectable now 😊

I really enjoyed this video. Watching you create and craft is so satisfying somehow. Maybe it’s because I pick tips and tricks from you. I just found out last night that you could flock wire and make a tree, who knew. Thank you for all of your tips on making miniature dioramas. I love it.❤️

Yes resin makes me nervous, but I was pleasantly surprised with the last project I did at how clear it came out, so I hope this one will be the same, fingers crossed, actually everything crossed I think 😂

Hello Gina, the tree looks amazing, I love the base, the lake and the windmill look really good, I can't wait to see what you do next. Have you ever tried using static grass, I did a garden at 1/48 with 2-4mm static grass, it looks really effective, and you only need a cheap electric dispenser to do it , mine cost about £12 from ebay, and it's really easy to use too. Best wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧 😊

I haven't used static grass, it's on my list to try so thank you for the tip, I wasn't sure at this scale if it would look any good but now I'm curious to try it 😊
