This is a perfect and amazing addition to the town. The tower design is also perfect for a wizard. The story of Velkior was really interesting and my mind added some of my own ideas. Velkior, the Benevolent. He is a mystery, as wizards like to be, and there is a little bit of fear in the people who live in the village. He likes that. It keeps them respectful of both him and his land. He does consider it his land. I believe that Velkior was in his tower long before the others began to move to the area, possibly for several hundreds of years before. When the others began to settle in the area, they decided to copy some of the designs of his tower, mostly because they didn't want to annoy this wizard and they felt that if their building mimicked his, he might be more willing to allow them to stay. Velkior didn't mind them living close, so long as they lived in peace. By the time the priests arrived, the town was already well established and the respect and fear of the wizard was quite apparent. They felt it best to not go against the feelings of the people. Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. O'Truth. May the next year bring you only peace, love, joy, and good health. ♥

Has any of those mischievous children ever asked Velchior if he was a dragon? 😉 Maybe Tarec isn’t the only dragon involved with the history of the city. Loving this addition to the city and the lore!

Yet another magnificent building, I really like those alternating pantagonal floors. And the roofs are always masterpieces oftheir own. And the story telling, top notch. Sounds like Velchior(spelling?) is a interdimensional traveller, possibly a dragon-human hybrid, or maybe even something more unknown. An ancient being who knows the true weight and responsibilty of the power he wields, thus he prefers not to interviene too much. These are just speculations though, I also heard once people speculating he was a Catsquatch(some cat Sasquatch hybrid) and a shadow warden of the Crag. But as you mentioned, there are many rumors. Merry X-mas and Happy Saturnalia!!
@ColonelOTruthMiniatureIssues11 күн бұрын
Thank you! I was very pleased with the way the alternating floors turned out - I had my doubts for a moment! Glad you like the roofs too! Frustratingly, Velchior (you are correct with the spelling - well done!) would most likely listen to all such speculations about him, smile, and say nothing. And since he is so much wiser than I am, I will follow his example..! Mrs. O'Truth and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas (and Saturnalia)! Happy New Year, too!

Well, I learned, long ago, to not be surprised at your creativity, concepts, imagination or attention to detail, but you never cease to amaze. All four of those qualities are explicitly evident in this build. The tower is phenomenal, and Velchior's story added a lot to making the tower real. I did have to laugh when you said building a five-sided structure didn't make your life any easier. Not giving the tower a dirty wash, and keeping the rooves flat, made the tower stand out as a place of awe, and provided a sound foundation to the story of the wizard and the tower. It has the appearance of being maintained by an unseen force. Loved the blue light, in the top floor. The positioning of the tower is brilliant. It lends itself to Velchior, perhaps, assisting Phenia in her observatory. The two would seem relevant to each other. Don't hate me, especially after all the fiddly bits you dealt with, but I think I'd have had to add some crystals. Perhaps even one on top of the tower. They can be made by carving clear hot glue sticks, with a razor knife, then dipping them in hot water, to make them clear again. They can be stained using the inks, too. The tower is beyond critique. It's absolutely splendid! Looking forward to the next installment!
@ColonelOTruthMiniatureIssues11 күн бұрын
Wow! That's very high praise indeed. Thank you so much! Despite the relative complexity of working with pentagons (hexagons would have been so much easier!) I thoroughly enjoyed making this piece. Not sure if I'd do it again though... You're absolutely right about Phenia and Velchior being relevant to each other - and equally, I suspect the Priests of Taryx might embody a common irritation for them both! I actually did consider adding crystals, but decided against it. I have a variety of them rattling around in a box somewhere. Thanks for the glue stick tip - I haven't heard that one before! Thanks again, and see you next time!
@CONSTELLATION_PEGASUS11 күн бұрын
@@ColonelOTruthMiniatureIssues Honestly, I'm not sure the Overcrag would need another pentagon-shaped structure. The tower being unique to Velchior gives it, and Velchior, the extra aspect of mystery they deserve. Those aspects of mystery and uniqueness could well be what keeps the priests of Taryx on unsteady footing, when it comes to Velchior and Phenia. Adding crystals, in my mind, would've tied the tower to Undercrag City. They could've actually been mined from the caves of Undercrag. Velchior might well be the only person, in either city, that knows the true power of the crystals, in the caves of Undercrag. That was just the direction my mind went, when it came to a wizard's tower.

A mystical crown for an enchanting city. I can't say I like all this talk of finishing this project as the ride is entirely way too enjoyable, so in defiance of the inevitable I propose a blimp or hot air balloon tethered to a boarding station of some sort but suspended (or literally floating?) in the air. You're running out of land and I'm grasping at straws, but it sounds pretty cool. Regardless, thanks for the excellence and inspiration, and Merry Christmas!

Hi John, and thank you very much! I'm glad you like these videos. I haven't studied architecture or engineering, but I do work with both architects and engineers. I'm sure some of that has rubbed off! However, going back much further, I was raised in an artistic and technical household, with ties to the theatre (props, etc.) and I have always had a good knack for 'seeing' how things should fit together. I can't remember a time when I wasn't imagining the world around me in miniature!

Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 everyone and happy new year. ❤❤❤ I was just wondering 🤔. Does Undercrag city have A town hall? Or similar type building. Loved the wizards tower. I always seem to build run down buildings with broken caved in walls and ceilings full of debris and corpses. Holes in walls and dirt and blood everywhere. Severd heads. I built a castle from middle Earth that is now occupied by gient spiders wargs trolls orcs and goblins. Possibly ghosts as well. But I build 28mm wargames style. Lord of the rings strategy game. But this smaller scale. Intrigues me. But even at your scale. Barad Dur and Orthanc would still be massive.
@ColonelOTruthMiniatureIssues11 күн бұрын
Merry Christmas David! Great question! There is no town hall as such, but as in parts of the north of England, the pub often serves to accommodate civic gatherings and magisterial proceedings. There is also the Undergate and of course the Manor House on the Overcrag. I chose 10mm scale as an opportunity to get really carried away with building something 'huge'. In 28mm scale, I wouldn't be able to reach the top of Velchior's Tower!
