Love that it is 5 step. Takes you out of 3/4 and 4/4 monotony. Ups the weird factor to 11.

Lovely idea! Turning silence into an effect with such cool results is great. And the 5 steps are very nice for polymetric stuff!

I used to use modulation effects and LFO gating through my synth to get good rhythms out of my guitar even though I utterly stink as a guitarist.... this takes those ideas a stage even further... nice!

Extreme Super deluxe version where each "step" could have a different modulation option. 1=tremolo 2=flanger 3=stock silencer option etc.

The only other pedal that I can think of that delved into this type of stuff is the Zvex Super Seek Tremolo.

There is a boss pedal called a slicer and it was soo cool I’ve often wondered why slicer pedals aren’t more prevalent.

This is very cool. I will say it's kind of similar to some of the features of the Slicer? I actually made a multi-line and/or momentary switch pedal for this exact reason, but I didn't think to add a sequencer to it! I like your version enough that I'm tempted to get one!
@kylesilver844
@kylesilver844 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, but it’s cooler then the slicer because you don’t have to use the set patterns/sequences. Creating your own is both more personal and, if you are running a loop into Simon’s pedal, you can alter the sequence/pattern on the fly and play this like an instrument. I think that makes it more useful.

It took me forever to realise that you kinda look like Ali-G. Also this is my favourite pedal you've made so far, kinda reminds me of Ableton's Warping workflow - it also can behave like a gate of sorts - but this pedal is next level. I'm counting the days until I can get this and Bubbles

Is it possible to also use this pedal just as a fuzz?
@SimonTheMagpie
@SimonTheMagpie Жыл бұрын
Hey did you email? Was sitting down to answer stuff here in a minute and saw same question 😄 Answer is no. Didnt consider that as a function since I was stuck in enjoying the pattern aspect so much. Not sure if I could tweak it right away to be able to do that. Maybe for a v.2. Not sure where I could fit a pot though, haha.
@kylesilver844
@kylesilver844 Жыл бұрын
@@SimonTheMagpie yes, I was the one that sent the email. I wasn’t sure if the email went through so thought I would post here. Instead of another pot, could you add a zero value to the knob controlling the number of steps in the sequence? This would effectively turn off the sequencer and implicitly suggest the user only wants the fuzz. The reason this would be valuable (to me) is because I have very limited space on my pedal board. Pedals with multiple functions are always appreciated. Plus it’s a very cool sounding fuzz on its own. Just an idea/suggestion. Btw Your pedals and videos are so unique! Keep up the amazing work!
