I missed this one! But this is so good as content! You could add the word ASMR to it, since it is that. Reminds me of the hours long circuitbending streams you used to have on your channel :)

What these really need is to replace the fan with a compressor and tank (and a pressure regulator would be wise as well) so it doesn't lose volume with larger chords.

I would love to see this idea of pitch speeding up the tremolo used to automate the volume of a white noise oscillator, similar to how erosion works on ableton but with the added modulation of the noise, i feel like it would be great to use on bass as you could keep your main tone clean and subby but with a modulated white noise on top They use a similar technique in a load of bass music styles and i havent seen anyone do it with guitar pedals If anyone can do it i know its you!

This was incredible considering this keyboard is not even a "budget keyboard"...its literally a toy. Honestly you should do a video on making music with an actual budget keyboard such as the Casio CTS500 or the Casio CTX 3000 ..... I wonder what amazing music you'd make with those!

I remember in the early 80's playing with a door stopper. Drove my parents nuts... BOING, BOING, BOING! Before I could even walk, I guess I was proficient in a musical instrument and played it... LOL

I first look at this thing and think "This is so cute, what fun to play something so simple"... but then it does so many things my big expensive synths can't do 🤣 Very impressive!

Try banjo strings in it. They have more give to them and there's an interesting story about how Tony Iommi used banjo strings and ultimately ended up with a fatter sound than other guitarists.

Get a piece of hard maple and cut to fit where the tuners are currently. Then glue it in place firmly. It's hard to tell if it would be a better fit in front of the red piece or behind it, but whichever works. Then get 'zither pins'. You will need a good 3/16 in drill bit to make the holes for the pins. I would suggest a brad point drill bit. Drill a whole for each zither pin. Using a zither wrench "l wrench". The square end of a zither pin is about 4mm square. The pins have a very fine thread pitch and work best in a material like hard maple. Thread the pins in till they are roughly the same height. String it up and tune. The string hole on the zither pins is smallish, so for larger guitar/bass strings you may need to drill it out a bit. A good place for a piezo is between the maple block and whatever it's glued to. Could also make a wide ass magnetic pickup as well. Though maybe cheaper/easier just to use a series of guitar single coil pickups.

wow i always wanted to do that with mandoline strings but failed couple of times because of technical reasons and lack of will to continue. Its sound better than i expected! I think the main problem is very short length of the strings.

“Somewhat Playable” is my aim for every instrument I have made. 😄 That is outstanding, I love the sound of the new strings, and of the the disassembly as well!!! I think , similarly to ASMR, that ye need to create a whole new genre of Ambient Musician Background Noises. (Which, obviously, the next step is to remix.) 🥰🥰🥰 And here, in the Midwest US, I’ve always heard “String Gauge” pronounced similarly to “Nic Cage,” like “StrinGAj” kindof! 😆 Excellent work, I very much look forward to the continued Evolution of the Toy Piano!!! ❤️❤️❤️

its a bit expensive, im thinking cause those guitar strings are going to cost you. but if u had 5 in a row it would be a good keyboard.

For the strings use banjo style tuners coming from the back instead of top in addition to the tuners already in place. Where there’s a will there’s a way👍 You got this.
@CasioChaosTheoryАй бұрын
Simon, have a look at the Rickenbacker 360/12 string guitar tuner layout. That was quite an ingenious way of fitting double the number of tuners onto a standard size headstock by alternating them 90 degrees from each other. Maybe that could work for the toy piano? 🤔
