Yup. Toys make for great figure material. I'm currently finishing the paint job on my Nurgle daemon prince (that looks similar to a great unclean one) and his legs are taken from the hind legs of a rubber ankylosaurus toy. (Let me know if you wanna see it SB) ;)

As much as I dislike nearly all of grandfather Nurgle's aesthetic choices, the techniques and scratch bashing you did in this video was incredible. I was particularly impressed with the spine cone. The final figure looks like a legitimate model, well done!

Nice work. I've often used bootleg or broken toys from second hand stores for kitbashes and scratch builds myself. Sometimes an articulated figure is just a better armature than wire, especially if you're short on things for adding bulk.
