That was great tutorial. I only got m machine yesterday. I don’t hand knit and live in uk. Is drop stitch in USA same as cast off uk. Your coat and pup are adorable.

Hi there, thank you so much for the kind words! I think that drop stitch and cast off are probably referring to something similar. I use the term "drop stitch" to signify dropping stitches in the middle of a project but I also use the term "cast off" to refer to the process of casting the entire project off the machine.

For dropping the stitches to make leg holes ... Would this concept work for thumbs holes in fingerless gloves made on a 22? I'm in Georgia and we don't need double thick gloves made from a 48 folded in half.

It totally could. I would knit to the base of the length of your wrist to thumb and then drop maybe just 2-3 stitches and then stitch a few more rows. In my brain it works.
