Very cool project! My way of semi-automating gearbox generation involved a pretty big Excel spreadsheet with several tables on different ratios and so on as well as a visualisation curve to display the behaviour, allowing to tune by preference and avoid choppy transitions. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how your gearbox generator will turn out, also in comparison to my own method ^^

Showing the process is awesome i learned so much watching this

really cool! but wouldn't it take some experimentation to get the ratios right so all the gears have a fairly uniform spread? like by random chance gear 1-2 could be a 3x increase but gear 2-3 is only a 1.5 x increase

Yeah this is the case, hence why I'd recommend a small, medium, and large gear for the A, B, and C gearboxes to get even intervals

i understanded shit. its just 3 gearboxes and one engine? automatic gearbox.
@BigmanBoi11 ай бұрын
Final result is exactly that. The thing this does is it configures the gears for you so you don't have to pick what order they engage in. Saves the most painful part of the process

@@BigmanBoi so all u did was make an automatic gearbox? thats not new.

@@bajsapa3892 I don't think you understand what this does asside from that lol

it redesigns itself every time you modify the ratios, basically self building lego gear 🤯
