The end result just blew me away, that looks gorgeous.

I got the Cold Steel Recon back when they were $60. My work knife when I was constantly cutting boxes and cords was a Honshu. I can't imagine spending $200 on a pocketknife.

That blade flashing bit with the light was hypnotic. 😵💫 When you mentioned the logo it made me think that maybe you should make your own metal stamp with your channel logo for certain projects that you want to put your "stamp" on. 😅

I do indeed have a makers Stamp I don’t use them on modification jobs or props usually original designs only 👍🏼

Just something to be aware of: H1 is a work-hardening steel, not a traditionally hardened (with heat treatment) steel due to its nitrogen component. Meaning that the comparable Rockwell scale goes up the more it is worked on. H1 with serrations actually are harder and have a higher comparable Rockwell count over regular unserrated H1 steel because the grinding hardens the steel. I doubt it's a case of it being made brittle due to the grinding, it probably had no where near that of an impact on it, but you might want to be careful stabbing or plying with the tip more than you were before.

Quite impressive grind work from the tanto to the swedges! I know a lot of people say that a 2x72 is a must when it comes to knife work but a little 1x30 like that is excellent for mod work in my opinion. Also a thought I assume you’ve had or maybe even attempted but would it be possible to modify and shorten the original scales to create a fully closing knife?
@TYRANTH_ Жыл бұрын
That scales are too small so I would have to make the blade shorter for it to fit properly , I didn’t really want to do that so the only other option is too make custom scales like I did with the first one👍🏼
@poncho151 Жыл бұрын
@@TYRANTH_ I understand but I was referring to the original salt/endura scales. Obviously it wouldn’t be as simple as just grinding them down due to the mold and texturing.

I've been trying to find a good folding knife with a decent 3-4 inch blade under about 40 AUD. Any recommendations?
@TYRANTH_ Жыл бұрын
Under $40 I’m afraid I don’t really know any usually around $60-70 is where you can get some reasonable stuff
