I can't wear watches that work for long, so I just stopped. I have many but I wear them as bracelets.

2 things: a quartz chronograph at that price point is not unreasonable. Unless you opt for a Chinese Seagull movement (which I doubt Swatch will ever do since they have their own movement manufacturer), the cheapest Swiss mechanical chronograph would cost at least $2000. The acrylic crystal is probably the most accurate thing this has with the original Omega Speedmaster (which they'd call it "hesalite crystal," but it's essentially acrylic). While it's the least scratch-resistant crystal material, it's used in the Speedmaster's case because it doesn't shatter, which would be a liability in low to zero gravity. Also a number of watchmakers would actually opt for acrylic not only for its resistance to shatter, but its warmer hue and vintage vibes since most watches were made with acrylic back in the day. It's also arguably better than mineral glass because you can polish acrylic with something like Polywatch to get rid of the scratches whereas scratched mineral needs to be replaced. If you want to upgrade to something scratch-resistant though, get sapphire glass, not mineral.

In the words of Jeff Dunham. It's a good thing the Swatch wasn't made in Croatia.

I didn't know anyone used acrylic for watches.

Usually Vintage watches used acrylic or similar , these days technology and materials have advanced way beyond that Sapphire crystals and the standard

Whoa whoa... That IS NOT... the same Acrylic As what they use on watches these days... Lmao. You know this right
@strydyrhellzrydyr13456 ай бұрын
Wait. You bought a cheap mokns watch online.. so your saying some sort of knock off.. of the moonswatch. Not a cheap version of the speedmaster???

Swatch owns Omega right? Funny, just yesterday a customer was telling me about this watch.
@TYRANTH_ Жыл бұрын
The swatch group owns Omega ( and a Whole Bunch of high end watch brands ) Which is most likely why a " Collab" Happened in the first place

10:20 you know you can’t really make a mechanical chronograph for less than $500 right. And that’s for Chinese movements…

And? This plastic quartz watch costs $260usd

I've gotten to the point in my life, where I have decided to entirely eschew anything poorly made. Or made by slave-labor. So, I won't buy anything Asian made, or made outside of America. Acrylic on a several hundred dollar watch is hilarious. I bought a driver's watch a decade ago made out of rose gold, crystal and real gemstones for the same price that watch you bought is being sold for today.
