Little Alter Boy is goated BUT it really sounds best on Mono vocal tracks. In stereo or dual mono, you’ll get weird artifacts. Keep it in mono and you’re golden

Worth the artifacts….fully goated

Could you technically, do a mono vocal track with it on, render that out and then pan it?

I'm going to Alterboy specifically for the artifacts. To me it's kinda dirty in mono too and I love it. For artifact-free pitching (say on vocals) my choice is Waves Soundshifter. Old algo, but somehow also the cleanest in my experience.

@13:06 (RAUM) _"it does have a shimmer"_ It doesn't, you are pointing at the 'freeze' button (the frozen snowflake). It's my favourite reverb of all time (even over the ones I paid lots of $$$$ for), if you're signed up for the NI newsletter, they give you a free plugin each Christmas, RAUM was the free plugin 2 or 3 yers back.

I'll add a couple I love. 1: SoundID is vital. 2: Rbass. 3: black box. 4: Melodyne (not just vocal tuning- its tempo mapping, editing and polyphonic functions are just magic and indispensable when nothing else works). 5: As for a compressor- I really miss logic's stock plugin. 6: RX (I record a lot and this fixes any and all problems- I also find myself using music rebalance on stereo recordings, esp video footage from my phone). 7: Relab lx480. 8: SPL transient designer. 9: Townhouse bus comp. 10: echoboy

I use Surfer EQ (the Lite Version) in almost all of my sessions. I wanted to upgrade to the full version for years, but let it slide for so long..(instead I just stack :D) But it really is a very precise and well made plugin! The tone quality and the details are so good, that you will not over-boost or -cut frequencies that easy. It detects the harmonics really good and stays in the range of either the wanted harmonics of a certain key or if you want to cut frequencies it stays in the range of the unwanted harmonic frequencies.. So for instance, if you want to make the Bass heard throughout the song more constant you can easily dial in the audible harmonic frequency and let Surfer EQ do the job of where to leave or lift the matching harmonic frequency. You can also determine the Q and how much of the frequency spectrum it supposed to "surf on". Or for Vocals, if you have a nasty upper mid frequency, which pokes out with different notes between 800hz to 1500hz, you can just select that frequency and cut it with a small Q and Surfer EQ takes care of that area in a very subtle and pleasing way.
