In this Mumbo Jumbo Minecraft redstone video, Mumbo builds a working bank in Minecraft that allows players to securely store Minecraft diamonds. This Minecraft redstone ATM machine has working bank cards, a 9 digit combination lock, and a secure storage system so if you're the richest Minecraft player, this is perfect. This build would be perfect for Minecraft multiplayer servers, SMP's, and Minecraft realms - however it does involve some complex redstone circuits, so it's for redstone experts only!

they uhh, mostly just are used to read the "contents" of a "container" this could go for reading how much stuff is in a chest or hopper, or more obscure stuff like reading how much an item on an item frame has been turned from its original position or even how much a cake has been eaten, once it has gotten a read on "how much" of something its facing into "has" it gives off a redstone signal of strength appropriate to the... sometimes contents, it can even read redstone signal strength i think- sorry if this was confusing or if you simply weren't looking for an explanation, too late now tho, lol
@acidicpoisonz
@acidicpoisonz Жыл бұрын
@@italianinsanity397 nah that was actually really concise. the only other thing I'de like to add on is the math part. if its in normal mode it will only come on the specified amount based on whatever the containers "fullness" is equals the amount on the side of it. I don't remember what the inverse part of it does in that scenario but if I remember correctly it subtracts whatever inputs the side from the main piece and sends out a signal equal to that.

Like have an extra hopper above and below the combination chest to load/drain the correct number of items depending on whose password is needed. @@Jessepigman69 You might be able to replace the movable tile entities with a shulker box loader, but it would be a little on the large side, and it would slow the system down considerably waiting for the shulkers to cycle through. My thought is to have nine shulker boxes serving as the indicators, with an and gate on the return system to ensure the crushed shulker is returned before spitting out the new digit. You would need some additional xor gates to disable the controls while the system was cycling, not to mention grian-proofing everything with spam protection, but it would be doable.

in the lock system, you have to put in a non stackable to have enough power to lock the hopper, and the slimestone needs to be inverted at the top, and the piston observer chain has to be indirectly facing into the dropper so that it doesn't activate the surrounding dropper. To save the individual combination in vanilla, you probably could set a row of filtered hoppers that lead to each combo container with a locked hopper under it. They would filter 4 stackable items (stacks of 16, like enderpearls), and use 4 different items, so they always go to the correct digit, then return the contents via water streams from unlocking the hopper below the combination container back to a single chest assigned to that player. For the combination containers, it'd just take a hopper as the container so it would take the fewest stackable items to assign the 1-9.

I do think there’s a way to bypass the pushable chests dilemma, although it would be stupidly bulky... The combination circuit is incredibly flat. So flat you could probably stack them one-atop-another. And seeing how the selection system works, I think you could easily rewire it so that whoever you pick reroutes the circuit to another combination lock. Thats just my take thought. Excellent build!

If you replace the chests with a solid block and redstone on top of it, you can send a signal strength in on top of that block and pass a signal strength in that way. Thus you could use a line of redstone where a specific torch is turned on along it's length to specify a signal strength instead of having to use movable tile entities.

Hiya Mumbo! Great ending, sure the end chest is great. But I can see having a working bank in the shopping district all the same. Stuff happens silk pickaxes get misplaced, and sometimes a hermit forgets an end chest in their shop. I've definitely seen that several times. Don't forget to add a bank fee. You did great adding the combinations into access the accounts. Thank you Mumbo for this video. Sharing your joy in you red stone build!

I love this design! One suggestion I would make is to stack multiple of the PIN modules on top of one another to form a cube of combinations. It would only add a few blocks of height, and by locking the signal lines you could make it so the number pad only inputs to the corresponding lock for that account. It would allow you to make a Vanilla-compatible build with all 9 digits and no fiddling with the chest contents themselves.

It may also be possible to change the contents of the chests with hoppers before allowing the combination to be input, but you'd probably need to space everything out more to make room for that.

Ok, so if you were to try to put this on the server, would you be able to replace the stack of chests and pistons with a shulker placer and breaker to set each code? I image it might make it take a few seconds longer to be ready for inserting a code, and probably some extra redstone lines to connect them up. After all, you are building a beautiful vault, what better way to get people to come see it than to hold their items :)
@that_one_guy934

A better ATM could be done using several keys: Take 10 hoppers (any number works, but 10 works fine for this). Give every person ceiling(log([AMOUNT OF USERS])) keys. For example, a bank with 240 customers will have 4 keys. Then input each key one at a time, store the output and use it to access an inventory. This is an improvement to the original design because the amount of space per customer grows logarithmically, which is amazing compared to the linear growth of the original design. However, the system is less user friendly compared to Mumbo's design. Edit: Another commenter mentioned that jukeboxes can detect which disc is being played. This can reduce the size of the system drastically :D Also, the design could be really user friendly by using shulker boxes as cards instead of individual cards. In that case, with both the jukebox and shulker box you could have 5.68⋅10³¹ total users. Another thing to mention is that the space will actually be O(n⋅log[n]) because of the storage for the actual items! Right now, another improvement could be having a central storage and a memory for each user, but then that takes us back to Mumbo's design with a hard wire for each customer. Maybe instead, you could have each shulker box represent some amount of diamonds (say 100 stacks), which could be used for bulk purchases. The shulker box would then be just a security system instead of a memory system. Oh hey would you look at that, I just made the minecraft equivalent of a dollar bill!

I think if you wanted to have this work without movable tile entities, you could create a duplicate of the number pad circuit for each bank account you need, with each having a unique code. Then you'd just have to set it up so that it only accepts the output from the circuit whose code corresponds to the inserted bank card
