I think the speed at which you go through DD3 is not that important. If you get the core characters, everything else will just be difference of a few days. Understanding that it doesn't matter how fast or slow you complete DD3 is one of the most crucial aspects I think. Here is what I brought, how good it was and if you should bring it. I made much bigger mistakes, indicated by my very high attempts needed. Node 1-4 (53 attempts) Phoenix (mutant) - Excellent - Yes (key character for nodes 1-8. Should be your first Mutant to G14) Hela (mystic) - Good - Maybe (this depends on if you use her in U7 and what your plan is for cosmic) Ultron (tech) - Mediocre - No (too expensive, doesn't do much, value in other game modes is dropping) Invisible Woman (bio) - Good - No (too many other characters need bio gear, she is not that important to other game modes) Punisher (skill) - Bad - Maybe (fairly cheap, not a lot of skill characters, determines how good your defenders are. Flip side: does pretty much nothing. I did this only to start DD3) Node 5-8 (69 attempts) Phoenix (mutant) - Excellent - Yes Ultron (tech) - Mediocre - No Mr Sinister (mutant) - Good - Yes (Sinister always does something useful, but often it is just creating a warm body that takes a hit. Still great for other game modes) Shuri (tech) - Good - Yes (Having defense up is amazing. I only got her to G14 late in node 7, she would have definitely sped up my Global run a lot. Also use her in U7) I did not have a fifth for my Global run. Node 9-12 (21 attempts) Invisible Woman (bio) - Good - No Hela (mystic) - Good - Maybe Minn-Erva (tech) - Excellent - Yes (She is just so good, should probably be your first tech to G14, other option being Shuri) Black Bolt (bio) Good - Maybe (He is absolutely amazing in a lot of content, and he did do a lot of work here. Mind you I have him at 7YS/7RS so mileage may vary) Ebony Maw (mystic) - Excellent - Yes (He is absolutely amazing, should be your first mystic to G14) Note: I one shot nodes 9 and 10, then put node 11 on auto which cost me at least 3-4 attempts, huge mistake) Node 13-16 (26 attempts) Punisher (skill) - Bad - Maybe Symbiote Spider Man (bio) - Excellent - Yes (He is the key to the City nodes. Depending on if you need Black Bolt for arena, this should be either your first or second G14) Carnage (bio) - Good - Yes (He complements SSM so well and does amazing work) Ghost Rider (mystic) - Mediocre - Maybe (He is a reasonable option, and with my sacrificial Punisher he usually gets one full heal per attempt) I did not have a fifth for my City run Which characters will I bring up for my second run ? Global: I will be going for Emma Frost as my 5th for Global. Cosmic: Given the choice to do it again, I would leave out Invisible Woman and take Thanos for this instead. Time wise I don't think the difference would be huge, but Thanos is more desirable to have at G14 for all other content. City: I would skip Ghost rider and use his gear for Thanos instead, and would use Invisible Woman's gear to bring up Venom. With Venom available to me now, I think I will rip through the city nodes even faster. I would currently not bother with a 5th or even 4th city character, just the three symbiotes.

Great video with a lot of great advice 🙏 I really loved the spotlight/props you give to Thanos and SL. I do really think SL is irrelevant now for the end gamers but at the time I first went through the cosmic nodes he was killer. Just like the dd2 days. I could see him still being useful to newer players who may not have access to hela and maw. I do disagree w a few of your opinions. Not 100% disagree but I have conflicting opinions looking at the bigger picture 1) SIF- she’s absolutely no where near a necessity for dd3, however if you’re running hela and you decide to add sif it will really take your Asgard squad to the next level. I believe even more impactful than t14 Thor. Facing big SIFS in war is not joke. Squads that would normally make easy work of Asgard squads w big Thor’s and helas can easily have a rough time getting through big SIFS. Her survivability and resistance are a real issue at t14 w high rds. 2)ULTRON- yes he sucks in dd3 but his viability in other game modes like u7 cannot be understated. A t14 ultron in the endgame is very useful. A t12 ultron.... useless. 3)VENOM over CARNAGE- yes the defense up is extremely helpful for survivability but more important than CARNAGES passive turnmeter manipulation? Absolutely not. His passive turnmeter is just as important if not more so than SSM’s healing(okay maybe not more so lol but on par w it). You take that turnmeter away and the symbiotes as a whole take a HUGE step down. FYI this is not an attack. This video is one of the more helpful and informative ones here on KZbin. There’s a lot of great insight and advice. Just sharing my opinion on a few key points. Take it w a grain of salt. In closing I would consider these characters to be the most essential to dd3 whilst keeping other game modes in mind. IMO they will serve you best all things considered GLOBAL- PHOENIX and COLLOSUS (sinister, Emma frost, falcon, shuri, ultron, yo yo and probably x23 would be the next tier down) COSMIC- MAW and THANOS (hela and Minerva tier 2 but almost a photo finish tier 2) Honorable mention- captain marvel invisible woman and star lord IMPORTANT ALTERNATES- BLACKBOLT because he’s hands down the biggest damage weapon in all game modes. THE REST OF THE BLACK ORDER because of how well they will serve you in arena , war, blitz and to singlehandedly clear the toughest of u7 nodes. *blackbolt is the toughest decision. He serves us better than anyone for what he does in all game modes but he’s bio and resources put into him could very probably delay your progress in the city nodes. Many think it best to concentrate on city nodes then t14 him w completion rewards. Realistically it would depend on your overall progress and stockpiles of gear CITY- SSM and CARNAGE(At the time of writing this SCREAM and ANTI VENOM are about to be released). There could quite possibly be combinations other than SSM and CARNAGE that could work just as well if not better although breaking up that combo of turnmeter manipulation and healing... well... those are huge things to go w/o. Also keep in mind that all 5 symbiotes are bio and take the same uniques (alien spores)

What are you planning to do with your DD3 rewards? Seems like I should mostly save them for new characters tuned to DD4 since most DD3 characters didn't exist or had major reworks since DD2. Power creep is real and probably need it for DD4 and DOOM! 😅

It seems like the best option is to use your first time rewards to take more characters to T14 in order to speed up your second run. If you have any left over you can invest in characters needed for Arena and U7 but thankfully there’s plenty of overlap. Second run seems like the best option is to finish any characters you weren’t able to complete for Arena and U7, but then hold on to the resources until we find out more about DD4. I’m midway through my second run but can’t think of any characters I’d want to T14 when I’m done.

So I’m at a weird spot. About to enter city. I have SSM at g14 and venom/carnage at g13. Venom is 6rs and 2 pieces away from g14 and carnage is 5rs and 4 pieces away from g14. Which one is better to take with SSM? Had a million people tell me carnage after I already invested in venom so I stopped and changed course.

You can do city with just the pair of SSM and carnage and take less time than global with a full 5. BB is fine to take at the expense of Venom only. The extra damage he does is nice. However, BB is not a part of the optimal cosmic team to 1-shot cosmic, which is: EM, Thanos, Hela, PM, ME

Hello I am currently on node 14 (city) , I got out of Cosmic in 5 days, the most I struggled was global I had Phoenix Sinister, trooper and scientist Supreme but in second run I am planning to add colossus and shuri for global should I do it? Also should I do blackbolt or yoyo for second run considering I finished my Cosmic part in 5 days, but I struggled with global.

How many yellow stars your yoyo has? if 5 or more, sure, she will be great, but yoyo is global and BB is cosmic Shuri and Yoyo is a great combo, but if you use them you cant use protectors like colossus, so keep that in mind, And im 100% against taking Colossus

great video... i assumed most of them and invested wisely, (except Sinister but that is because mine was only 5 YS 3 RS for a looong time, i used Colossus instead as he is 6RS and 7 YS, so he survives very nicely with Phoenix) 1 am on the 6th node and i have time til city... my symboites will be 6R 6Y Symbiote Spidey, 5R 7Y Carnage and 6R 7Y Venom... i am looking forward to city hehe... i think as a disclaimer the main thing should be these ONLY for DD3... i agree BB is a disappointment in DD3 but obviously one of the best to invest in t14 but not at all for DD3... @@louietae9932 95% of Minn-Erva's power comes from the way her abilities work and doesn't rely on scaling. She doesn't need red stars. She doesn't need T4 abilities. I wouldn't say no to 7rs on Minn-Erva, but there are literally dozens of characters that get more from red stars than her. It just doesn't help her much at all. Research it, bro. You'll see it's common recommendations not to put T4 mats or promo credits into her at all. It's part of why she's so good.

theres no point honestly, you can beat the first 2 nodes with SSM and randoms but 3rd and 4th nodes are impossible, too many mordos dr stranges, scarlet witch etc

Hey DuArkTik. I haven't started DD3 but am planning my team. You said that Shuri would be ok but not worth it, and you would rank Star Lord over her. Obviously, they go into different nodes (Global v Cosmic) but it seemed to me that Shuri would be great for the first 8 because of giving defence up to everyone effectively on spawn, granting energy off her special, healing every turn, getting an extra energy off Phoenix's special which allows her to ultimate on turn 2 etc. Is there something I'm missing about why she isn't great for DD3? Worth noting that I am taking Minn-Erva up before her, but I have her in mind as a second tech character. (Also helps that she will be great in raids unlike Star Lord which is something I'm also bearing in mind when it comes to investing in her). Also, would Ebony Maw, Minn-Erva and Hela be enough by themselves to clear the Cosmic nodes?

Hi Iain, Yes Ebony Maw, Minnerva, and Hela will be enough for cosmic but it will take a few days. Shuri is okay, like you said she gives energy and def up, but she is expensive as hell doesnt heals much, doesnt cleanses, doesnt provide any control, its a very dumb character outside the wakanda team But on the other side she will be very useful in U7 so its not a total waste of an investment but she wont do much in DD3

Colossus is amazing in dd3. Without him u are not going to get off phoenix ultimate very often if at all.. With colossus u get her special and ultimate off quite a fair bit if u play with rng

Colossus is "okay" for the same cost you can have Sinister and Sabertooth that will allow you to go through DD3 twice as fast with 50 cores a day, its up to you, but i prefer to save time at the cost of some cores

ThrawnIsAlive carnage is superiorly better than Venom, he is wrong. Carnage passive adding turn meter is sooooo much stronger than Venom’s kit. Having just finished both runs, I can tell you how huge carnage’s passive is. It would have taken me so much longer to 2-man city with venom instead of Carnage.

Yeah carnage is more important than venom. A lot of people 1 shot the 1st 3 city nodes with just ssm and carnage. Of course all 3 are better but all 3 are also bio and all require 36 alien spores each.

It’s taken me 6 months to get enough for Hela, so another 6 for Maw. I wish they had better options for cosmic; but if it’s not mystic or tech, cosmic is useless

You couldn’t be more wrong about Venom being more important than Carnage. The turn meter boost is essential to clearing debuffs because of carnage. Never mind extra attacks equals more healing. Venom gives def up if he’s basically full HP, but he’s slow and while his kit is good, speed is king. Without Carnage it would have taken me so much longer to 2-man city if I’d have used Venom instead. Also, Carnage passive is 1 of the top t4s for the symbiotes if not the top t4. I normally think this guy knows his stuff, but this is all just blatantly wrong.

I used Venom, SSM, and Ghost Rider. You get the RNG to attack Ghost Rider, get your defense up, and get the train going with SSM's ult. I mostly enjoyed DD3 city, especially compared to global.

DuArkTik MSF HQ Except you said Ghost Rider, merc lt, punisher, vulture we’re all useless. So either you are suggesting a 2 person crew for city or you are suggesting all 3 symbiotes. If you have to choose just 2, then carnage and SSM is the superior combo because according to YOUR OWN advice we shouldn’t do anyone else. So in your hypothetical optimal team there is no one there to take hits for Venom. He won’t apply defense up. He’s too slow. He will be borderline useless. At least carnage is fast and will get a few turns.

I disagree with a few things u say. Carnage passive kicks off when u kill of minions from loki n stuff I highly recommend it for dd3 and it works off well in u7 n war. And bb is amazing can't believe u say he's not good. I one shotted almost all of cosmic. N bb was a big part of that.

Daniel Butland he’s talking about dd3... not other game modes. I have bb in DD3 right now and he’s not as good as you think. He just makes things go faster lol you can one shot the nodes without him , just slower. Also carnage’s passive isn’t that good in DD3 because of the massive health pools.

I also 1 shotted every city node except the final node which took me 3 goes... it's a good t4 cuz it is helpful in dd3. But u shouldnt do a t4 cuz its good in one game mode. U should only t4 things good in multiple modes. But it is helpful in dd3.

Node 7, and again wrong about them always targeting Ultron. I 3-manned global with Ultron, Sinister, and Phoenix and I avoided double IFs and had no issues with the global section. Sure it was a little grindy, but saved me mats for cosmic and city.

@@mikectx9019 He is squishy with long cooldowns and he is global. You got much better options for global. In comsic and city long cooldowns are not that bad because you got more sustain. In global you do everything to make phoenix surivve as long as possible. With taskmaster long cooldowns if he die you will benefit from his kit once every 3 days? he is good but not best and not worth imo

Plus all his counters/attacks are typically w/ offense up. So do you actually have G14 TM or have used him in DD3? Because my guess is only a whale or creator probably has an accurate insight. It's not like PM is going to be in DD3 w/ her full BO? So as a stand alone toons, TM has been rated god tier, PM only a demigod? These are all facts so I'm just wondering how you got your analysis? I hear you on Global- lots of choices, but ecen more in cosmic where PM would be used. Currently my global squad is TM, Vision @G14. Both Shuri & Yoyo @G13 half way geared to 14 and am waiting on Phoenixs event to unlock her. I'm hoping Vision 2 turn defense up plus Shuris Defense up combined w/ Yoyo offense down will do enough to help the team sustain long enough to be effective and combining TMs stuns, offense downs and blinds should only compliment that. Duartik shoot me straight-- wasted resources or might work out good as can be considering its DD3?

@@mikectx9019 Well you want to rly plan ahead - catalysts. You will need TONS of SBC. Proxima is fine because even if she is squishy we got revive on cosmic. My friend was using TM and his damage on global/misc nodes was lower. He had to reset a lot and still TM was dying easy from aoe attacks. I am not saying TM is trash but for global you got mutants and some tech chars. They just do this job better than TM. For example you will see HUGE difference between using colossus, sinister and phoenix vs random chars like deadpool or vision and phoenix. Calculate your SBC. I was able to get 12 characters for tier 14 but i had a lot of it.

To clarify my experience, 81 days on first run with only 11 characters, which the last one joined for the last 4 attacks. 3-man global and 2-man City. So it’s absolutely possible to get through it in a timely manner using characters that directly contradict the claims he is making. Carnage is better than Venom, Ultron is not always targeted on node 7. BB is not bad, but not better than SSM and Carnage (better than Venom). I used him to 4-shot nodes 11 and 12 on my initial run. Characters I used: Ultron, BB, Phoenix, Hela, Sinister, ME, PM, EM, SSM, Carnage, GR. Dude you do good content, but stop trying to be so against the grain, that only helps if you’re right.

Don't take his video soo personally...I watched this and thought these were his opinions based on his experience in DD3. Obviously yours were different and if the viewers can't decide for themselves...I def never heard him say this is the only way and if you don't follow it, you can't beat DD3.

quade0713 I don’t take them personally, but I don’t like the idea that he’s giving people bad advice. There are discord channels dedicated to DD3 theory. It is not a debate that Carnage is better than venom. What I hate seeing in that channel is people asking for help because they made poor character choices because they were given poor advice. I like helping people, but I prefer not to have to try to undo something they could of avoided, especially since gear materials are so hard to acquire. Venom is not the worst choice, but he’s hurting people more than helping them with advice like that.

quade0713 there are definitely many great team comps, but there are only a few optimal teams. You can certainly beat DD3 with bad teams as well, but nobody wants it to take longer than it already takes or needs to.

I agree. This guy loves going against the grain on even obvious things to seem smarter. Calling everything “ez” mode. It just gets old. With that said, whether you do Venom or Carnage you will finish city nodes in a timely manner. It really doesn’t matter as long as you have SSM and one other symbiote

I don't know what you are talking about with Maw's ult not being useful. That extra 5% or 10% speed bar reduction is a huge help and a lot of times means being able to kill/focus someone down before they can get a huge ult off. I was able to 1 shot the first 2 cosmic nodes, and 2 attempts each for the 3rd and 4th with the team I brought in. You are 100% wrong about maw's ult T4 not being helpful.

Nick Davis it’s more useful on the full team. If you’re not using maw without the rest of the black order for whatever reason it’s not worth it. I was talking about DD3, since you’re most likely not gonna be taking the full black order team into it trying to complete it with them

@@louietae9932 I've already beaten DD3 twice, and I can confidently say that you're wrong. It definitely is a game changer. That speed bar doesn't seem like much on paper, but in practice it's huge even in DD3.

Nick Davis, no one said its not a great T4, just not for me when my BO minions have only 3 to 4 yellow stars, Its not a great T4 for DD3 thats what i said, everywhere else where you have full BO team obviously its a great T4
