Great video, focus on crypts is an exciting idea. It's looking beautiful. Using slower growing plants means a slower-evolving and maybe longer lasting scape--appeals to me. Excited for the 'studio' unveiling. Thanks for keeping up with videos while you get settled in to your new home :) I love my UNS Delta filter .

This was timely. I have a 29 gallon that I am getting ready to setup and I was thinking of using just crypts. Like you, I love them. I am thinking of building a cave system under a root with crypts on top of the caves, around the roots, and moss on the branch’s above the caves on one side of the tank for a pair of L394 Tiger Plecos. Still playing with the scape for the rest of the tank. I am still working on the rest of the fish too. I am thinking a Daisy Blue rice fish and then a centerpiece fish of some sort. I have a short list, but still doing some research. I have many of those crypts in another tank. If you have never done the pink flamingo, it really turns the color of a flamingo with the lights. It is stunning. I read it was hard to grow, but so far mine has grown like a weed.

I did an anubias only scape once but it became an algae bomb. I think if I was to do it again, I would have put some fast growing stem plants in first and then once things stabilised, take them out and set the light to a lower setting. I think crypts grow a little faster than anubias but still slow growing so definitely something to look out for IMO.

Hé MJ, great setup as usual. I was wondering, I just got myself a biomaster 250 for a 60p tank, but obviously the flow I a bit to much. What solution should I go for in your opinion? 1. Use the 16mm tubing with an additional valve in the outlet to restrict the flow and use 16mm lily pipes Or 2. And the valve as mentioned above and reduce the tubing to 12mm and use 12mm lily pipes? Or maybe you recommend me something completely different… Thanks in advance Greets from 🇳🇱

Hey Mark, amazing aquascape as always!! Love the idea with only crypts! I have done something similar with the Juwel lido 120 cabinet and the Superfish scaper 90 rimless aquarium. Hello MJ Great aquarium. Really appreciate that you share with us your knowledge and experience. Do diatoms (brown dust algae) appear in your aquariums? In mine usually within the first month (3rd week) they cover everything - plants, gravel etc. After the second month they dissapear but some of they stay on leaves or equipment (like empty shell). I need to remove them manually. Mine aquariums have a lot of lights, co2, external filters and substrate under the gravel or substrate. They also happened to appear on Low Tech aquariums. Do you have any idea how to prevent those brown dust algae to appear?

You can completely complete it within 1 week with 30 minutes to 1 hour each day to satisfy your passion. Before, when I first started being passionate about this field, I really wanted to make one to play with, but because I was busy, I never did. But after a long time I told myself no, I have to spend at least 30 minutes every day to fulfill this passion. And so after more than a week I got my first tank even though it wasn't as perfect as expected

It's funny watching this now because I just did a very similar set up last week 😂 I built a juwel lido 120 stand but mine is grey version, moved the shelf higher too so I could put my biomaster and co2 inside. But I don't have a light for the tank yet. I can't decide between the twinstar EC or SM. I have watched you use both in the past but it's hard to see from video if SM is much better or similar. Is the colour on the SM much better than the EC? Both are more than powerful enough for me, it's mostly between the colour saturation as I like my red plants

I would go with the SM 👍

Is the Delta 90 too small for the 60U? I am planning to have a fully stock 60U for 20 neocaridina shrimp and 8 pygmy corydoras, (that I already have in a 60L), and get a group of ember tetras and a group of celestial pearl danios. I believe the shelf in the stand is actually part of the structure that makes it more stable. By moving it up you may have decreased its stability.

Could be! But this stand is designed for a slightly bigger and heavier tank, so I’m sure it’ll be fine 😊

They will only show their best colours if they are comfortable. Consider adding some floating plants or another more confident dither fish to help the neons feel more comfortable.

What i miss on your channel (and almost all youtubers with very good content), is a video for real beginners with a small budget. I know you have some budget video's but then you have always some wood, or stone or plants from other projects that you use in that scape. (and looking online at prices for wood, stone, snails, shrimps, fish and plants that can add up quickly). What i need as a beginner is a video where in someone has a tank + light and a budget (lets say € 300), then make a plan for the scape and plants and take that plan and budget to a aquarium store and show people what the best buys are for that budget and in what cases it is totaly up to their preference. That doesn't mean that i don't like your content at the moment, but for a starting scaper i can not use a € 2000 budget and make something, for starters i don't have that money laying around, but also as a starter you can make mistakes and even don't like the hobby at all, so then all money is lost. I hope you can help me with this.

Heya! Yeah Delta 90 😊 It’s a decent filter, not wow but does the job. It was a little noisy for the first few days, but now it’s relatively quiet. In terms of flow I would have preferred a little bit more power for this 20 gallon.
@samkoz20458 ай бұрын
@@MJAquascaping i also have 20 gallon. Should have gone with the 120 delta. My one is pretty quiet. I think its just air trapped. It started off making noises but i pressed the primer a couple of times and a bunch of air came out and it was quiet from then on. You think the 120 delta would have been overkill for a 20 gallon?
