Bloody amazing Paul, you're a star and an inspiration to us all. You should have got that knighthood rather than that other feller.

Paul - you sir are an international treasure! Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful designs! I am widowed and hope to use what you have been teaching us to create Domes for our farm that can be used for both greenhouses and camping. I hope to use it to provide an income and generate enough to share with worthy causes in the community like a homeless shelters, food banks, animal rescues, schools… I just wanted you to know about the good ripples you are spreading! I hold you in the deepest of respect for your generosity, your brilliance, and your art!

Brilliant. You must be very proud to see your babies. Good to see people are painting / treating the wood inside. Have you heard of people soaking or dipping each cut piece in wood preservative or other water proofing before assembly, this is what I plan to do, but don't know if it is worth the cost and time

Paul. I'm still looking for the "Perfect" dome. I imagine it to be made from your template for dome sections.The template sections to make wood frames and join them together with wood screws is simply extraordinary. Covering them in plastic is great. Works well in soggy weather, so nicely done! I live in New England. I'd love to move to a colder climate year round. Please consider building triangles out of composite materials? I think your framework system is ready for making rigid panels out of other materials. you may already have bee approached by interested parties on this thought. Please share. Stryo-cement? Hempcrete? What are your thoughts?

Paul, my friend in Costa Rica needs grow space, do you think you could design a "tunnel dome" that could be 30' - 50' ft long using all same size triangles?
@mikubuntu2 жыл бұрын
Also I wonder how the structural strength and stability compares to more "traditional" dome geometries? Would it demonstrate the same "tensegral" properties.
@truetech41582 жыл бұрын
Nice work. What about half domes that attach to the side of a flat wall like a sunroom or jacuzzi room? The way a half dome looks, it seems like a interesting way to add additions to a preexisting home. And if to add a door, it would be cool if the door was like a pocket door like mix of star trek door and shutter on a camera.
@jmvp415 Жыл бұрын
One of the great things about this design is that it can be made that way - leaning against a wall or even on a corner.

My husband and I want to build a geodesic dome greenhouse, and he is a metal fabricator and has a ton of tools for ease of fabrication work. However, it seems as if the challenge with emt conduit for the frame is attaching the exterior/cover. Can a structure such as this one work with conduit instead? Do you have any recommendations for a dome greenhouse constructed of emt conduit?
