Ballet dancer here, and even though those wish pointe shoes are the bane of all ballet dancers existence, you wore them beautifully! If you’ve seriously never been en pointe before, you have the feet flexibility and strength for days. Amazing!😍💜 (You also do an echappe better than half of my students😅)

My experience with the Rit Synthetic dyes is that you need to boil the fabric over the stove applying constant heat to get the fabric to take the colour. That could help in future. But the dress looks gorgeous.

Back at it again with Rit Dye failing us! I wanted to give you some tips for future 12 Dancing Princesses projects/in general; to make paint less crusty, mix in a fabric medium to the paint. It’s very liquidy and it makes the paint stay flexible once dry. Depending on what your fabrics are made of, you can use a candle flame to melt and seal the edges of most polyester fabrics, as they’re made of plastic and won’t burn like natural fibres. Just be careful lol I vote for Ashlynn as your next build: she was always my favourite sister growing up :) Keep posting awesome build logs, I always look forward to seeing the creative process!

Heads up - The dye didn't work because if you read the instructions on the side of the bottle you'll find that it needs to be heated with some dish soap (nylon is plastic you need to slightly melt it into the fibers for it to hold its color)

Also, for someone who has never danced, your 5th position was breathtaking and your pointe work in cheap Amazon shoes is literally perfect. You must have some amazing strength and flexibility in your feet and legs to do that. Just wow.

Since you were talking about how you think we are getting tiered of half circle skirts I thought MAYBE just maybe you would possibly want to make Amber’s dress from Disney Junior’s Sofia The First. ✨There is only one catch though, it is the dress Amber wears in season 4. There are some great references in season 4 episode 27, The Elf Situation. Now I know they are what, 9 years old or whatever, but I think if you fix the measurements and all that it could work. I know basically nothing about sewing so it might not work but just a thought. Some of the dresses on the show could be pretty full size. If you have Netflix that’s were you can watch the episodes. 😉✨

You tied the shoes correctly, and you looked pretty good in them to. The dress is gorgeous! If you did another one, could you do one styled like some of the younger characters dresses? I think their are three variations, but I’m not sure.

Hi Hun, I would suggest that when you show how you do a circle skirt to not rush through the filming. As there might be a person watching one of your videos for the first time and are really interested in it... aka me 😂. Also, you did an amazing job!! Your so talented!! ❤️

If you dying synthetic fabric, the best dye for it is idye poly. I found it's the best for any material that's synthetic, and keeping the dye bath at a high temp (whatever is recommended on the packaging) really helps keep the color in.

hope this isn't considered a mean ballet comment, but i think as long as u understand the risks and have someone to help u in case of an accident, knock urself out. pointe shoes are very fun ! :)) also, i hope u eventually do odette from swan lake !! that movie is the reason my mom put me in ballet, i was OBSESSED. and if u do do another ballet kinda barbie movie, get some toepads, so ur not hurting ur toes and feet even more ! loved the video that dress looks awesome.

If you add clothes softener to your paint. When it drys on fabric, the fabric doesn't stiffen up or chip & crack off. Becareful of the paint to e changing though. I was wondering what you do with all the dresses you make?

i would recommend getting soft pointe shoes for projects like these they are far more comfortable and prettier to wear for a non dancer. much nicer fit and better for photographs

In my opinion, the next dress I like to be made is Janessa! (Just in grown up size) I mean this because it isn’t the same colour and pieces it’s made of. For synthetic dye, I believe the water needs to be at a low boil. Though regardless, some fabrics don't take in dye as well.

Can you make one with purple dresses, please! There are 2 with purple dresses (apart from the young one) one with dark purple and one with a lighter shade of purple! The one with dark purple is one of the middle sisters (her name is Isla) so her dress is a little different from Geneveive's but the other one with lighter purple (her name is Ashlyn) is almost the same only on purple! I like your work, you really know how, I really wish I could see a dress like this that you made now only on purple!

That more sparkly fabric you found is just *perfect* for Genevieve! AND THE SHOES!!! I LOVE THEM!! The moment you started putting on the gold lace on them I got hit with a wave of nostalgia. They look so good!! Just, the whole thing looks AMAZING!!!! I just about squealed in happiness during the reveal!! You did an amazingly perfect job on the dress!! I feel like every cosplayer who uses ballet shoes should put a disclaimer at the beginning to confirm they do ballet and can handle being en pointe. We get really defensive about our art form and feel like it’s an insult to us as people think it’s so easy anyone can do it. We don’t stop to think about whether or not the cosplayer knows what they’re doing, though it is quite obvious when they don’t. Btw, your turn out is to die for🥲
