The longer that I’m natural, I’m slowly using more and more natural products because nothing on the commercial market has been catching my eye. So this is right on time🙏🏽

Be careful with this mind frame. I was there too. I was a “natural 3000” girl. No commercial products, no silicones, etc. Even used my own sebum. But, my hair was still breaking and shedding. I use blue magic, curl activators, Aussie conditioner, and wax pomade in my routine for my ultra moisturized, ultra defined wash n Gos and styles. Made a world of difference. Breakage reduced by 90% with first application. I still use bentonite clay masks, oil rinses, yogurt masks, rice water and other homemade spa treatments. But there’s still a foundation of basic products that my hair needed to thrive, and these treatments are a great addition to that regimen, but not enough on their own. You may be someone whose hair retains length regardless, but there are a lot of women watching these videos and trying all these things yet their hair is not responding in the long term. I’m speaking to them and for them. Don’t give up, get yourselves products with petrolatum, lanolin, beeswax, and silicones. And watch some naturals who use those products. This is not meant to deter you from using these treatments bc they are a very good addition to a regimen. But a lot of us need heavy sealants. Working with my own sebum(just that, no other product) has taught me a lot about what my hair needs. Sebum was the best thing for my hair. Ppl with kinky, coily Afro hair has sebum that is different than others because it contains more wax esters and squalene. Meaning it does NOT mimic jojoba oil or any oil out there, contrary to what naturals on KZbin say. Our sebum is WAXY. But that waxy sebum is perfect for our hairs protection. Sebum conditioning is great, but it was too cumbersome to maintain and sustain. So the next best thing are products that mimic our sebum. Petrolatum, lanolin, beeswax. Once those get incorporated THEN u use all these beautiful treatments to support your journey. Hop this helps someone ❤️💕

You made me cry yesterday I know black woman have been through alot our hair is very challenging but it hurt me that we have all this new technology it's 2022 and black woman still have an emotional hang up about our hair which we would have been conditioned to feel like is short ,ugly, can't grow, dirty when it's like black Americans in the states the south didn't come over here being able to speak the prayers of our ancestors without being tortured and couldn't bring hair supplies a d through our kidnapping they cut our hair which can be just as long but longer than other races but like 4x the actual amount of hair and as a person with dreadlocks who works around different races I noticed the difference between how a black woman is treated if she has a wig on versus if she has her natural hair. I get alot of shade and hate for my hair not only by black woman who aren't comfortable yet but by other races of girls. Asking if my hair is real, they'll laugh at how unkept my roots are but look astonished that my real hair is this long like all we can have is bad weaves it's not normal other women Make It extensions and things like that but I'm talking about the overwhelming percentage and I'm also talking about 4C hair I'm talking about how it's normal to buy Brazilian or Indian hair right but if we bought the herbs and the vegetation that comes from the very same places our hair would be just as long
