I just use gel (a xanthan and flax combo) but my mom prefers creams. I already have this stuff on hand so I'm like.... 🤔

How do you measure the preservative based on the percentage? Like, you did the math, but what do you use to measure out that 1% from the preservative container? That’s the last thing I need to understand so I can make this

Ohhhh, this recipe is the TRUTH! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing! I tried it and literally do not need to use any other products! Adding my preferred hair oil as you suggest allows me to combine two steps in one. My hair is super soft, super shiny and so hydrated! I love this stuff!

well done for letting people know that Vit E and essential oils ARE NOT preservatives. Unfortunately there are still many people out there that insist that these products are. One needs to use a broad spectrum preservative. I use Germall Plus however, Opitphen is a good choice too.

I use organic vodka in my hair and body butter to prevent spoilage, its amazing for hair! Also vanilla extract as natural preservatives 😊. Thank you for sharing this great recipe

I feel like KZbin was literally reading my mind. I decided to go heat free all of 2022. I’ve already been chemical free over 14 years but I feel my hair is damaged from being blow dried and flat ironed too much. It’s March now and so far no heat, but now I need to define and embrace my curls and my unruly baby hairs. I’m going to save this and watch again where I can write all of this down. I'm really glad you pointed out the truth about what a true preservative is, a lot of people just say oh add vitamin e oil and it's like that is not a preservative although a lot of them will help extend the shelf like of natural products.I think it's nice to add preservative in these natural products that way you don't have to keep it in the fridge and for low porosity people like me I love anything warm on my head.

I made a different one for my toddlers. I would like to highlight that depending on the ingredients used a preservative may or may not be necessary. Also, some dye videos do not require preservatives because they are using the product right away. I try to avoid preservatives my son has very very sensitive sick so less is best for my little guy. I do love how you broke down everything and explained the usage of each oil! Very awesome keep up the good work and please start a business 🥰 I will be a supporter.

I would recommend adding some citric acid to the mixture. It will stabilize the pH since Opthiphen+ works best at a lower pH. A lower pH will also give more definition, and won’t dry your hair out since you have other moisturizers in there. ☺️

Apparently BTMS is great to add to this as a emulsifier. Or some vegan emulsifying wax. I have used regular beeswax with xantham gum before as I didn't have an emulsifier

Flaxseed gel: 1 cup Water (distilled) 1 tsp Flaxseeds -boiling for 8-12 min - strain it (use thin sock or 2 strainers) -- obly need 3 Tsp of this gel Shea Butter Mango Butter Ing. 1 cup of melted Butter 2-4 tsp of your fav oil Vitamine E 1 tsp Guan Guam -Double boil Methode - preservatives when it is cooled down 1% !!!
