Everything turned out perfect! I do have a thought for a mesh trashcan. You can get garlic, onions, and potatoes in mesh bags that have varying size mesh. You could use wire for the over all frame work and use wood glue to stiffen the mesh and hold it to the wire frame. I saved a few over the years and that just sounds like the right place to use it. ♥
@BentleyHouseMinisАй бұрын
Thank you for the thought! I have some oranges in a bag right now but the mesh is too loose. I will be on the look out for some more that might work ;)
@khristlynnehester346Ай бұрын
@BentleyHouseMinis there's this stuff called tulle, it's what tutus are made of and the mesh is extremely small scale. I've been hoarding some specifically to use for dollhouse projects like chain link fence!

All I can say is WOW, Juno’s office turned out great 😊😊 You always amaze me 😅
@lycidoll5670Ай бұрын
for a mesh trash can, using stiff netting might work! They often come in different thicknesses and can have wider weaves which could work in doll scale

Live smoke effects are complex and can run only for a few minutes at a time. However, static smoke effects are simple and last forever. I found that aquarium filter floss works very well for static smoke effects, such as a wisp of smoke coming from Juno's cigarette (or neck). Aquarium filter floss is similar to polyester batting, but is much finer and denser. It can be pulled apart to make the effect as wispy or as thick as needed. It can also be spray painted lightly grey or black, depending on what color of smoke you want. Static smoke effects have been used for decades for model railroad locomotives to create steam and smoke in photographs long before digital retouching existed. It is most effective in the larger scales (doll house). A small bag of filter floss will provide you with enough material to last for many years. Give it a try.

I don’t know what I’m talking about but i had an idea. If you painted mod podge on the face and then put a thin tissue over it. While the mod is still wet you could move the tissue around with a toothpick to make wrinkles. Just an idea. Maybe something to try on an extra head if you have one. ❤

If you're working with a synthetic fabric, you can easily fray check the edges by melting them over a flame. Sewists do that all the time with ribbon.

Things I thought while watching, in no particular order; I'm so impressed by Juno's hair! Your eye for layout in this location is really sharp, Ara. After seeing how a static doll looks compared to a posable doll, the difference is really apparent. It's so surprising what weight does to how we perceive something. The way you added weight to the fabric and the papers really changed how I saw it. Ooh, I wonder if you could 'permanently pose' one of the football players, with his foot up on a chair while standing on the floor with the other foot? It might make him more stable for standing? Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. That's pretty cool. ❤

Great work, Ara. The details on Junos desk and the flyers are my absolute favorite in the space. The details and layering of the files really define the room. Juno turned out really nice as well. I had a few observations, though. The pearls could've used one more coat of paint. Juno definitely needs a few more layers of hair/curls. Her hair is very teased and thick. Also, the sleeves look very wide for her petite figure. Your work always impresses me. These are just a few things I noticed. 🖌🎨🖌🎨

If you do put flyers on the floor near her chair, you could put some marks on them in lines, like Juno rolled her chair over them. I hate it when I drop some document, roll my chair back to lean down and grab it, in the process roll over the paper and leave wheele marks all over it. Since there are so many flyers and forms around, I can imagine this hapening to Juno all the time.

An idea for you to help with fraying... If the fabric you are using is not natural fibers, you could cut the clothing pieces with your laser cutter and that will seal the edges as it cuts. The only downside is you have to draw the pieces digitally in order to cut them. And you do have to experiment with your settings to get it to cut but not burn and melt too much.
