Here are some Ideas to yoink though might be hard to implement: Adaptable AI: As players progress through the game, enemy robots become more aware of the virus and adapt their strategies. They may start to guard their allies, attempt to isolate infected units, or employ other tactics to counter the player's actions. Robot Abilities: Each robot type has unique abilities and weapons, providing players with diverse gameplay options. For example, some robots may have stealth capabilities, while others have heavy armor or rapid-fire weaponry. Players must strategically choose which robots to control in order to maximize their chances of success. Boss Fights: At the end of certain levels, players face off against powerful boss robots. To defeat these bosses, players must carefully choose which robots to control and utilize their unique abilities to overcome the boss's strengths and exploit their weaknesses. Upgrade System: As players progress through the game and infect more robots, they can collect points to upgrade their virus capabilities. These upgrades can include faster hacking, more efficient control of infected robots, or even the ability to simultaneously control multiple robots. Virus Evolution: As players progress through the game, the virus itself evolves, becoming more powerful and gaining new abilities. This progression can be visualized with increasingly complex and sinister-looking forms, providing a sense of growth and accomplishment for the player. Stealth Mechanics: In certain levels, players must avoid detection by security systems and other robots. Successfully sneaking past enemies or using stealth robots can provide strategic advantages and open up new routes to complete levels. Environmental Interactions: Players can use the environment to their advantage by causing distractions, setting traps, or creating obstacles for enemy robots. This adds another layer of strategy and encourages players to explore their surroundings. Anyways I love your content and please KEEP IT UP.

You are killing it with these ideas thank you so much. I love the idea of having each robot have different abilities and ive thought about doing boss fights, cannot wait to work on the game more and have some things prototyped out. I was thinking that you could even just upload your conscience to security cameras, thus avoiding detection. Ill have to watch out though for feature creep, as its easy to get lost in features and never finish a game. THANK YOU!

I have an idea to add an ordinance that is made to make the enemy's take a lot of knock back and make it so u can grenade boost and another idea is a melee weapon like a shovel which can give u knock back when hitting hard objects.

I like the knockback idea, suits the fast pace of the game, not sure about a shovel, i was thinking more of a sword for a melee weapon, but ill definitely tie some movement to it

Head idea: The head of the player/enemy robot could be inspired by an octagonal prism design, with each face featuring an illuminated, honeycomb-like pattern. The pattern's colors change depending on the robot's current state: Neutral State: The honeycomb pattern glows with a soft, white light, indicating the robot is not currently under the player's control or posing any immediate threat. Alerted State: When the robot becomes aware of the player's presence or is engaged in combat, the honeycomb pattern turns red, signaling danger. Infected State: When the player successfully takes control of a robot, the honeycomb pattern shifts to a pulsating, neon green color, reflecting the virus's influence. Damaged State: If the robot sustains significant damage, the honeycomb pattern flickers and changes to a dim yellow or orange hue, indicating the need for the player to find a new host. The center of the octagonal head houses a single, circular eye that changes color to match the honeycomb pattern's current state. This eye is equipped with advanced optics, enabling the player to access various vision modes, such as thermal imaging, night vision, or a zoom function for sniping. The octagonal head design, combined with the honeycomb pattern and central eye, creates a futuristic and menacing appearance, perfectly fitting for a game set in a world of advanced robotics.

honestly i love watching you develop you games. if you took insparation from pre existing mechs and robots, characters like genji from overwatch and pathfinder from the titanfall universe. they can work and reflect a feeling you want in them very well

Woah, I've been avoiding substance painter like the plague, but after seeing this I think I'm gonna give it a shot. Also, if you want to keep this middle gun position in any form, you should at least lower it, because it is good practice in game design to avoid the center as much as possible for visibility. Personally, I would use it as an aim down sights alternative (narrower pov, slower movement, replaces looking through scopes which is godawful, why did anyone think of that) Forgot to mention, the new gun models look sick

Thank you!! Ive been avoiding substance aswell, but mainly beacsue of the monthly price, but i thought that if im ever gonna make cool looking games, ill have to invest. And honestly i love it so much, and its quite easy to learn. Yea.. i was thinking that but it just looks so damn cool where it is rn. Ill play around with it for next devlog because a couple people said they dont like how that looks in general. I didnt have ADS planned for the game, mainly because i want the game to be fast pace, feel like doom, superhot or even a bit like bioshock. Thank you:)

@@Wishbone_Games The entirety of the weapon carrier system and even shooting + linking the animation state graph to the code. For some reasons the shoot() part of the script runs randomly between 2-3 times and I have no idea why + it's all spaghetti code so i have to rewrite it. Trying to figure things out by myself is a bad idea, since I lack a ton of experience and i want to learn good programming practices + I don't want to reinvent the wheel i just want to make a shooter.

:0 my idea got added! I think some more movement tech is in order considering the premise of the game, not sure what that would look like but one idea I had is to keep or increase momentum when you swap robots so maybe (if you add a slide) the player could slide and quickly swap robots giving them a boost in speed. This in combination with the slowing time would give the player a second to get a drop on large enemy groups and then quickly escape (A limit on how often you could do this would be good though). Just a concept I can certainly understand if you wouldn't want to add this because its so specific and might require adding mechanics that limit the scope of the game in the future, like adding a stamina bar so the player cant just spam it.

The momentum while swapping robots would make sense, but conceptually i doesnt really, because you are techincally becoming a different robot, but ill think on it. I do have a slide in the game already, but its very underwhelming so ill work on that a little more. I actually do have a small cooldown on the slides, and the player will have to have a certain speed in order to do a slide, movement is nowhere near perfect yet so ill definitely be improving it. great video.. u need to make it multiplayer in maps so i will play with my friends.. and i think maybe u can make like maps and make the enemies head look like genjis head but change it a little bit and make the like v cause thats his eyes make it red and u can also make light sabers so if u are with your friends u can do some cool things with it and u can do a little animation for a couple conditions like if the player is coming from the right to slice the head.. the head will fall.. and maybe something similiar to stab, it depends on how do u want your game to look like and if u want it more to focus on story or maybe on multiplayer... but u are doing a great job keep uploading.. it can make me feel great if im eating smt and im watching your videos

Thank you! Unfortunately i dont have multiplayer planned for this game because it would be impossible to balance the main mechanic, and while i dont have lightsabers planned, i do have a katana planned and ill try add some dismemberment. Thank you :)

This is sick! Love the progress you've made and fun you're having developing the game. Since you're going for TF2 movement, considering the game has closed in rooms, wouldn't it be cool if the player can jump off of enemies, kinda like a trampoline, and use this momentum to keep moving? This could have the effect of keeping the player moving and not colliding with the enemies hence stopping the player in their feet.

Thank you :) Thats such a cool idea thank you, i need to refine the player movement anyway, because it is SUPER rough. So when i do that, ill make sure to add the enemy jump thingy, and later on i could even have the enemies fall back when you do that as you kick them.

I've seen a few comments on the gun position and though I love it, if you were thinking of changing it a penis gun is always a good option this not only makes the game more relatable but also gives the robots free hands that they can use to clim while shooting, throw grenades while also being able to use melee attacks and unload on other robots.

What if you added a dash/melee mechanic with a sword? I think it would fit well with the robot theme.

Sideways gun is a cool idea, but it feels awkward when you are holding it with both hands(because naturally it would be very unconfortable to hold a gun that way with both hands), try keeping it with only right hand in this case, it will look and feel much better and give off badass idc vibes comming from the main charracter.

I know ive been thinking about that, but it is a robot, so they dont feel discomfort, and if i remove the other hand for some larger weapons it kinda makes me wonder how they are holding it up with one hand. So im not sure, maybe ill have some gun use one hand later on. Thanks for the suggestion :)

And I know you have worked on it so much that it is hard to see the flaws (because it happens to mee too, since I am a digital artist) but it is so wrong that it makes the viewer uncomfortable.

Really quick polishing: put the hands and gun on an overlay camera so they don't get visually clipped by walls or obstacles when you are close to them, like at 2:37. Game's looking really nice!

Thank you, ive been trying out some solutions but it seems that since im using HDRP in unity, camera stacking is not supported, and peformance takes a massive hit with all the workarounds ive tried. Ill have to spend a lot more time trying out different methods, my best idea would be to make the arms and gun super tiny, and very close to the camera, which you would never notice as a player, and it would stop clipping

AH, apologies, didn't realize you were using HDRP. I'm not super knowledge of the pipeline, but I seem to remember it having a render priority of sorts, I think it's called "custom passes", that allows to render on top of everything (which might not be what you want tho)

@@Wishbone_Games another cool thing you could do is make segments break since they're robots, like clone drone the in the danger zone you can shoot their hand for example and it will smash kinda thing.

I dont think you should add a reload, as i think running out of bullets would be a good incentive to gswitch. Also if you’re going for like a zero-hud sort of thing, maybe have bullet numbers displayed on an attachment on the back of the gun.

Ive been playing around with that but i realised at least with the two working guns currently, that you run out of bullets in like 4 seconds, so im thinking of having one spare mag for each gun, and thats it. But i do like your idea. Im thinking of having a hud, but very minimalistic, i definitely like the idea of the bullet counter on the gun, since the game is supposed to be futuristic anyway. Thank you :)

You should make the enemies transition into different forms (or just the head) so 5he enemies don't take one specific form
