Sewing pieces that I've had in my summer wishlist for so long was such a great challenge and I am so happy with how everything turned out :) Pattern for the blouse is from Puff and Pencil.

For thin spaghettistraps made from a thin fabric, use a loop turner (the fish hook thingy). For wider straps in studier materials, fold like biasbinding, fold it in half lengthwise, give it a press and edgestitch.

Oh my gosh I love that you used the embroidery stitch on your machine! I've never done that but you inspired me to try it out!

Hello:) love your video! how to cut the ribbon to the right side, before you sew it, you need to make a long thread chain, which I do with an overlock, then sew it to the end from the right side, and that chain is left inside, and you can pull behind it and cut it to the outside . remember that when you sew, one end will stick out to the left side, and it can then be easily cut and pulled out completely. I hope you get the idea. I sew like that, I have a model where the sleeves need such an method.

Thank you! 💕 I haven’t tried this method, i will definitely give it a try next time i’m sewing. It sounds easier than struggling with the bobby bin :)

Came to recommend the same, I sew to sell and this is the only way I do it. Making the chain and keeping it inside the sandwich while sewing the side shut and then pulling it through the middle. Quickest way ever. I tried the tools etc and all are slow and fiddly

I use 3 main tools for turning straps and ties. Mostly i use a ‘loop turner’. They’ve been around since grandma’s time and reasonably foolproof. My other go-to is a ‘Fabric Tube Turner’. I only discovered those a few years ago, they’re easy to use. For bigger ties i use my trusty safety pin. (That one is a sentimental favourite because it was the only nappy pin i have left from when my kids were babies, showing my age there!). That embroidery looks fabulous on that blouse! The ruffles would have been nice as well, but it’s lovely as it is.

Thank you so much for the tips! I will try to find the tools next time I'm going to the craft/fabric store! Having things that have sentimental value, but are useful at the same time is so amazing. Some crochet hooks that I use often are my mom's and she used them when she was young and I love it :)

I'm so happy I found this video, such a calm video; I was watching it while folding my fabric stash LOL. I heard you ask for tips on how to turn straps right-side-out... I use the top end of a knitting needle and push it through, I've also heard you can use a chopstick (but I find them to short). Anyway, I hope this helps, happy sewing 💚

Your comment makes me so happy! That's what I love to do as well - watch crafting videos while crafting myself or organising yarns and fabrics :) Thank you for the tip, I will give it a try!

Hi Annalise, I watched a couple of your videos and I enjoy your overall presentation. You are relaxed, pleasant to listen to and I am impressed by how effortlessly you alter your design and sewing as you go along with your project. I am looking forward to viewing many more sewing projects from you. Congatulations on your journey! I am curious weather design and making clothes is a hobby or are you involved in it as a vocation.

Hello! Thank you so so much for the lovely comment, it made my day!!! I studied fashion design in uni, and have sewn, crocheted and knitted quite a lot, but at the same time I still have a lot to learn as well. I haven't necessarily done it as a job, but I've rather worked on my own projects, some bigger, some smaller :)

You could wear a slip under that white dress. If you wear a slip, a lining is unnecessary.

Why do you sew with the machine so far away. You are leaning forward. May develop back problems.
@annaliserey23 күн бұрын
I started doing that because I had a really small desk for a long time and I needed some space on the desk to work on (like pinning and measuring etc), so I placed the sewing machine further away. I guess it has become a habit.
