Edit: I have clinical depression but typically with medication my mood is pretty leveled out. I don't know if you do this already, but I often find it helpful to write down the things that help me get out of depressive episodes (E.G. Watching youtube) so that when I forget to take my meds I always have the backup list of Serotonin makers on standby. Yes people have and do regularly use nut bags (or similar products) to purify semen. Semen is made of 2 parts, the seminal fluid and the sperm bits. For artificial insemination (AI for short) you filter out the seminal fluid so that the semen is more concentrated sperm per fluid ounce. This increases the probability of your female getting pregnant when you inseminate them, usually with the sperm in a syringe. Fun fact: if the sperm is being transported (depending on the species, some sperm don't tolerate this and die) you have to add a specific antigen in order to keep the sperm alive during transportation. You have to freeze it if you are not planning on inseminating the female within 4 hours max of ejaculation. Sperm do not live long and are very sensitive to temperature changes, pH changes and pretty much everything. Urine particles can kill sperm which is why the cervix gets a little wet when the female comes into heat. That cervical fluid flushes any dirty things, like urine, that would otherwise hurt the sperm but simultaneously provide extra nutrients to ensure that at least 1 sperm is able to make it to the egg. When multiple sperm make it to the egg, it is called polyspermy and can result in one birth having multiple fathers. This is only a thing in dogs and pigs, no humans.
