@@j.prt.979weirdest one for me was Light over Tweek considering Tweek never fell out of top 9 whereas Light did, and Tweek’s peaks (rhymed) were higher than Light’s too. Otherwise about everything else made sense

@@KakinTseGamePlayer I somewhat agree, but I like Lumirank having a more equal focus on tourney wins and set wins, so I think they’re going in the right direction. Some slight tweaks and I think this weighting system will be pretty spot on.

I’d put myself as the top 1 player but my list is highly subjective as I have no characters in elite smash and have never participated in a tournament. I beat this one steve player in elite smash once though so I think that makes me goated, best smash player in history

4:10 agree but personally i put miya higher because he is a GRINDER. highest attendance of the top 20, basically every weekend there's an event he goes to it (honestly probably why japan has so many big events is because miya goes to them) and he also grinds smashmate. Sonix is probably the biggest grinder in NA but people don't talk about how much time Miya puts into the game. marss 3-0s him tho 🗣️

can someone explain how mkleo isnt #1. I don't watch competitive sets a lot anymore usually just marss or light sets and a little bit of tweek (they're the most enjoyable to watch by far imo). But i have seen a couple mkleo sets and he wins every set i feel like. Again i haven't watch too many sets in the past like 6 months but last time watching i remember mkleo shitting on everybody and loosing to only steve players here and there. Like everyplayer in the top 10 i think leo shits on except for acola. but like seeing spargo #2 and leo number #10 is insane to me. like since when was spargo better than leo i feel like hes not. And light i don't think has ever beaten leo (personally ive never seen him win a set against him). So like can someone explain im actually curious and confused at the same time lmao

Mkleo has been getting worse and worse in both results and losses You haven’t seen it, but he missed top 8 multiple times and has lost to so many different players over the last year Even when he wins his overall record vs the other players is pretty rough, he hasn’t beaten Glutonny since early 2022 and Tweek since 2021

Damn the list is good but this is a lame ass era for smash. Spargo is true #1 imo taking into account his journey and how he doesn't rely on borderline ban-worthy dlc and plays characters that come with the game. Acola needs to play another character, I think he could do it and still be goated but you can't just get away with playing Steve and not having a * by your results/ ranking. He plays a different game than the other characters and can get away with not having fundies (obviously acola has insane fundamentals no one is beating the best players without them, I really think he probably could beat everybody with another character but he beats spargo way less often without Steve imo)

Main thing Light had that really guaranteed that he was above Light was the fact that he has a ridiculous win rate against the Top 20 Mainly with the Sonix wins which are very huge for a Top 10 player Tweek didnt even fight Sonix at all in 2023 so it’s just algorithm moment Still will put Tweek over Light cuz he only gets 9th at worst LMAO

He got penalized for getting consistenly to the rounds where he could fight the best players. Apart from him , no one else not in the top 5 was even close to that level of consistency
