five reasons why japanese doesn't make good friends: 1 they choose who is worth to hear their tatemae (truth thoughts ) and prefer to use tatemae ( lies) no matter how hard we're polite or nice 2 they only thinks to work-work 3 they're too serious and too positive 4 they never wants to learn internatuional languages, and when we speak poorly japanese they mocks at us 5 they have xenophobia
@sadalpaca13072 ай бұрын
@@maegalroammis6020 I think it's dangerous to voice overgeneralizations like these that limit who people are and can be. Not every Japanese person is xenophobic, not every Japanese person is not a good friend, and you can't possibly know otherwise.

not sure how to explain this but I feel like getting to know the locals in another country opens up so much perspective. like getting a little sneak peek of how completely different life is for everyone. it’s the most satisfying and fulfilling part of traveling for sure

Note: I've heard this quote before, I don't know where it's from and it says "Never mistake tourism for Immigration" so before you move anywhere always do research and find out from others who migrated to see how it is as forigners living as residents
@flavoryf5662 жыл бұрын
Mhmm. Huge truth to that. I did a nice long study abroad in Japan for a year, loved it very much so, especially with my host family. But I can not see myself settling down there for life. Even though I do love a lot of regional & cultural things about the nation, I generally cannot agree with how the work culture & work/life balance may turn out... I have loved visiting it yearly (pre-covid) between 2015-2019 for 2-3 week periods to fulfill hobbies or visiting former host fam & friends. Do miss 'em dearly, and hope to see 'em again soon whenever I can plan next trip. But of course, if people do end up seeking it out, yeah research it, and if it works out for them, great for them!!! Pursue that happiness full force, snatch it!!!

true..visit Japan couple of time..thinking good place to stay..do my grad study there (what other way to work n visit the country?)..but instead only be able to tour during big holidays..most of my 5 years there i roughly lived or moved around within 6km from my lab

I say, don't waste the opportunity you're given. Streaming is very niche and being successful even more, make the most of it so one day you can settle down wherever you want. Not many people have the chance to be this successful and you should embrace and never take it for granted. It's one of the few jobs where you can truly work hard for a decade or two (some streamers even less) and be good for life, compare to most other jobs and you can see how its a true blessing. Love your content.

There's just something about walking cities. I felt a lot better about my surroundings in NYC and DC when I traveled there for the first time this spring. I would love to move to New York someday. Lived in SoCal all my life and prefer places out of the city, but in LA I'd recommend: • LA State Historic Park - Quiet, nice, and spacious + has a snack shack. Closes at sunset, often bc of night events (movie screenings, concerts, etc.), but tickets are available in advance. • DTLA (especially Arts District, Little Tokyo, & Chinatown) - Nice areas to walk around to shop or eat + near Union Station. Noise level depends on where you're at though. • Echo Park - It has a lake and is in the center of surrounding neighborhoods while also close to main streets with shops.

Loved the travel vlogs. I totally understand wanting to live in safe area. I've lived in three cities and while they're near everything they're usually busy and loud. I've moved a lot within two cities too so I eventually came up with my requirements for a place to live. I live in a super safe area currently and it's known for stargazing and I'm near enough a small city with a decent enough nightlife. I also have a ton of wildlife like butterflies, foxes and otters. (We're above upper NY state).

Although I do think Japan is a mostly safe place to live in I feel a lot of people romanticize just how great it is to live there from a 2 or 3 week vacation stint. I lived there for a few years and while I did enjoy my time there I've come to the conclusion that I would never want to permanently stay there and don't recommend people staying there for more than a year especially if one can't deal with loneliness. Its hard to explain but Japan can be very lonely.
